How to kill fiendslayer with grixis?

OK so this guy can be tough for grixis with both our removal colors not being able to touch him. Fiendslayer Paladin can be really tough if they slap 2 Rancor on him. Not standard I know.... My friends don't really stick to standard but I do... I'd like an answer in blue that can handle him. Of course Far / Away works and Anger of the Gods works but what else do we have?
I pulled anger but needed another red...... Then this guy killed me right when I played my second Rakdos Guildgate
Any ideas?

Devour Flesh , Time Ebb .
Im not a standard player, but those come to mind.

Devour Flesh , Far / Away and Rapid Hybridization are probably your best bets.

im a Grixis player as well (if you couldn't tell by my username), and I find Rapid Hybridization to work wonders, especially if you have any Anger of the Gods . Curse of the Swine also comes to mind. giving your opponent tokens also works well with Whelming Wave as it is basically a board wipe. other than that, just what the other guys have said

I actually forgot about Devour Flesh .....That could work well. I may look into Curse of the Swine and Rapid Hybridization ....I don't know if I have these but I could acquire them. I do have the other spells mentioned though, I just didn't pull them....except Anger of the Gods I did pull as I said but I needed my Rakdos Guildgate to untap after I played it to cast.

Remember that Far / Away , if cast with Fuse is both Black and Blue... If he has multiple creatures out, this means that either a) you can ONLY bounce the Fiendslayer Paladin , using Far... or b) Bounce another creature, and hope opponent elects to sacrifice the Fiendslayer...
Personally, I find this a little inconsistent to be relied on. But I suppose it's better than just Devour Flesh .
Anger of the Gods and Rapid Hybridization would be my two go-to spells for this matchup.
Other options include non-spell kills...
Boros Reckoner
Cinder Elemental
Labyrinth Champion
Pitchburn Devils
And of course, Satyr Firedancer , which can turn all you Direct Damage spells into damage to creatures as well... since this damage is from Satyr Firedancer and not a spell, Fiendslayer Paladin 's ability will not prevent it.

Also not that the away half of Far / Away targets the player not the creature so it can hit Fiendslayer Paladin but if they have more than two creatures its not reliable. I think I may look into Rapid Hybridization as its very cheap and could work well. Also, expensive but Turn / Burn could work.

I'd have to target with the turn part and finish him off with the burn part so not too reliable but could be an option...in regards to this question, how do you get rid of Rancor ?
May 1, 2014 9:38 a.m.
The best way to get rid of Rancor is to remove the target it is being cast on before the Rancor resolves.
If, for example, you Rapid Hybridization the Fiendslayer Paladin in response to them casting Rancor , then the Rancor spell will 'fizzle' when it tries to resolve, as the target no longer exists... since Rancor will be going to the graveyard from the stack, and not from the battlefield, it's ability to return itself to your hand will not trigger.
Alternatively, you can use an instant speed effect to exile it from the graveyard after it's ability triggers, but before it resolves. - For example, you kill the Fiendslayer Paladin ... both it, and the Rancor go to the graveyard.... Rancor 's ability triggers. - In response, you activate Tormod's Crypt to remove all the cards in his graveyard from the game... Rancor 's ability is unable to return itself to his hand form the graveyard, because Rancor is no longer in the graveyard.

So basically any instant speed removal on the creature will get rid of Rancor as it resolves.....also a counter spell will do it nicely I just saved those for his Voice of Resurgence

But in all seriousness ways listed above like sac effects and Rapid Hybridization

Cyclonic Rift + Sire Of Insanity ?
I realize that kind of hurts you too. But its awesome, especially with overload
If you don't want to have fun, I suppose Rapid Hybridization should do just fine.
