Hi im playing BANT(UWG), but cant seem to think of a ways to stop Slaughter Games to gut my win cons in my deck. Since it cant be countered kinda seems unstoppable. any suggestions for standard meta play. Thanks

You can always just diversify your threats. Run the same number of threats but change it to one or two-ofs.

If you're on the draw, there is nothing in Standard that can help you other than turn 2 Farseek
into turn 3 Witchbane Orb
. If you're on the play, Witchbane Orb
does the trick.
Also, having a greater variety in win conditions, including siding some out for different ones, makes you less vulnerable. I have been Slaughter Games 'd 3 times in a single game and still won. You just have to construct your deck such that it does not completely cripple you.

The answer I've come up with for my W/U/R deck (AEtherling's Army) is Witchbane Orb . With hexproof it stops Slaughter Games Duress and Rakdos's Return , all banes of U control and card advantage. Your other options are Nevermore and Council of the Absolute . Hope this helps.

Witchbane Orb isn't always an answer, smart Slaughter Games users will use the Games on the Orb. Diversifying your threats is probably the best answer to Slaughter Games . There's nothing more satisfying than seeing your opponent's Slaughter Games miss, especially if you sideboard in different threats.

I would prefer my Witchbane Orb
to get slaughtered. Everyone would. That gives me more time to use the better card that they didn't name and gives them one less card to work with.
Foolish players will Slaughter Games a Witchbane Orb unless their game plan specifically involves targeting the opponent with other effects such as Boros Reckoner or Blood Artist triggers.

@Jimhawk That IS true. Red does have a lot of answers to artifacts though, from Ancient Grudge to Demolish .

I would say Witchbane Orb When I Slaughter Games I hit your Sphinx's Revelation Then I wait for my second then hit your win con. So Witchbane Orb is probably your best bet.

With Witchbane Orb rotating in a month + 1 day (from this post), the best answer s to diversify and get your treats out as fast as possible, till we know what is in theros. If there is a reprint or functional reprint of the leyline's (small chance there is, but I do think unlikely ultimately), then Leyline of Sanctity is the answer. Slaughter Games is a bitch though.
A way to diversify is to use a transformative sideboard so your threats aren't the same in any game in the match up to help them whiff on what they are thinking is the biggest threat or give them a lame duck.

This is not a rules question. Moved to Standard forum.
