Intimidated by Standard

Hey everyone,
I was wondering if I should be intimidated by Standard. I have seen some of the decks that people play and it's pretty scary.
I would like to get into Standard using a Boros deck.... but I don't want to be the new guy who gets crushed mercilessly.
I have a deck starring Aurelia, Boros Reckoner , and some other awesome Boros cards.
Does anyone have advice for getting into Standard? Any tips at all?

If you're playing Boros, you should keep your curve as low as possible. Boros Reckoner is your "finisher," but all creatures should be low-cost aggro champs.
Don't be intimidated by competitive play. It's more rigid than casual, and you need to be more attentive to game state and rules, but it's still a lot of fun.
Talk to the judge before signup starts or before the pairings are posted and ask what might be expected of you and what a new-to-FNM player might need to watch.

Start at some FNMs. They're really casual for a tournament and if you;re at a LCS then maybe you'll know someone there. Trust me, getting into standard isn't hard. Lots of deck archetypes can do well, and at FNM it is really just about having fun. I know at my store the guys are really cool and they won;t judge you if you lose, I know experienced players who go 0/4 or 1/3 a lot.
If it were modern or legacy I might b intimidated, but with standard, take a friday night to go play and you;ve got nothing to worry abouyt.

Standard is easy to get into...but expensive to keep up with. Modern is much more expensive to get into, but less expensive-ish to keep up with. If you're looking for budget fun, Pauper is a "commons-only" format that only has a few "expensive" cards in it (for commons). Only problem is it's not nearly as popular.

This is a wonderful standard for competitive players. There are countless toys to play with, and there are a bunch of good archetypes to play.
It is less awesome for non-competitive players. In essence, almost every good card costs around 15 dollars or more. Quality budget decks are very difficult to come by, more so than in the past. So don't fret if you're a bit intimidated by this standard.
Anyways, show me the decklist. Boros Reckoner , Boros Charm , and Aurelia are all super good cards, and you can build a very solid deck behind them. I'd more recommend adding green as well, but it depends on the direction you want to go.
