Thinking of doing a (Golgari, splash blue) haste deck with a mix of Dimir Charm, Simic Charm, Negate.... Just keep pulling Dreg Mangler and Geist back to hand from control/clears, or countering them altogether for 2 mana... How well do you think this would work?

Some other cards that would be interesting:

Predator Ooze

Lotleth Troll

Vraska the Unseen

Increasing Savagery

If Vraska gets her ult off, dimir charm or negate can protect one token from any single removal spell until it's ready to attack. Unless they hit it with several all in one turn, it may win the game.

Ideally: Your Turn: Geist or Mangler. Attack. save 2 mana.

Their turn: Sorcery Speed Board Clear. You cast simic charm, negate, or dimir charm.

Your turn. If you bounced to hand with Simic, cast haste creature. If not, skip. Then Increasing Savagery to swing big.

Increasing Savagery is 7/6 on a Geist, 8/7 if you let them supreme verdict to buff it. (You can always simic later to reset its undying).

It would be 8/8 on a mangler. And control usually does not have blockers.

Toss in a few rancors to add damage.

This also allows you to counter their thragtusks unless they have cavern of souls down.

Id be down to try this over junk tokens for Gatecrash. Is this feasible? Any ideas now that the whole set is spoiled? Whats going to be the new deck to beat?

Atm my meta is:location one: all silverblade paladin decks. (Seriously, 5 matches, 4 of them were the same silverblade net deck.)location two: mix of naya, bant, and silly shit. Discounting silly decks, Naya and Bant are the decks to beat there.

I've drafted up an alternative to my golgari midrange deck to illustrate this. Nutshot to Control

Agreed! Any thoughts on the number of lands? It needs to be a healthy median between 4 island symbols (main deck) and 12 island symbols (Full anti-control sideboard).
