Swan Song What do you guys think about this card in standard.

Standard is meh, as most of the top decks are the devotion decks like blue and black and get their devotion with creatures it won't be countering a whole lot all of the time, so it feels like more of sideboard card against control decks

I just don't feel that it's at its peek yet. Sure, it's interesting now, but I believe that as Theros progresses, this card will prove more and more useful.

After ravnica rotates, especially.

It's a one-drop hard counter. Sure, it gives them a bird, but that's to make it less stupid. You can remove that pretty easily. "Oh, so you're dropping your god? How about a bird. Whip of Erebos? Bird. Grey Merchant? It's a bird. Aetherling? How about something that can fly?"

That was more the Idea that I was getting at, hungerwolf.

Read the card again. It doesn't counter creatures, unless they are enchantment creatures.

But is doesn't counter creatures tho, only instants, sorcory, and enchantments, although it does get the gods

That is the point, it is a very good counter against gods and their equipment.

But honestly, if you're just looking to counter the gods and their equipment, just run dissolve. You're going to spend at least 2 mana to get rid of the bird anyway.

I use em in legacy its a good 1 drop for counter

I only run it if there is a card in my deck that I can't afford to have countered. Why not just run Dissipate you ask? Mainly because if I'm up against a deck that does not use counters, it acts as a decent generic counter.

Swan Song could have potential in Standard after RTR leaves or as THS progress, but it's mostly going to be good in EDH and/or Legacy possibly (though unlikely) Modern

But it's honestly one of the more beautiful foils I've seen in a long time
