I like the Elvish mystic voyage satyr sylvan caryatid nykthos deck but what about blue instead of red? Play prophet of kruphax and kioras follower to nykthos on their turn and garruk plus blues draw spells is good? ...?

Absolutely. I think the biggest advantage G/U has over the other G/x archetypes is access to better draw power, which is typically the weak point of those decks. They spend all this energy to ramp out a couple threats, those threats eat kill spells, and they're topdecking, whereas GU can consistently hit big draw spells to keep threats coming. GR only has Domri Rade 's hit-or-miss plus and Chandra, Pyromaster 's one-at-a-time exile to supplement Garruk, Caller of Beasts , but GU has way better options such as Prime Speaker Zegana and Jace, Architect of Thought .

Prophet of Kruphix is another definite plus and shit gets out of hand in a hurry with one of those and some draw power. Cyclonic Rift is a nearly unbeatable win con other G/x decks don't have access to. Master Biomancer makes you feel a lot better about playing so many dorks and Burning-Tree Emissary , and there aren't many better targets for a Boon Satyr Bestow. Simic Charm is just a great all-around utility card that can protect both creatures and Planeswalkers while providing the options of useful staples Unsummon and Giant Growth . Finally, you get to load up your sideboard with counterspells or perhaps AEtherling for a control beatstick other G/x decks can't match.

Here's my version of the deck, which has made four Top 8's at FNM's in the last month and a half or so: My Prophet, Your Loss (Top 4 FNM)

I should mention that my deck is not updated yet for BNG but I could see Kiora's Follower replacing Voyaging Satyr , and I may have to find room for a couple Courser of Kruphix .

Really the only thing that's holding back U/G ramp is people don't like to play U/G for some reason. R/G has an easier time casting Burning-Tree Emissary , and can play Domri Rade , but I think that U/G certainly has an amazing package of cards with ones that ChrisHansonBiomancin said. U/G also has access to counter-magic, which is always a boon for the decks that NEED threats to stick to the board, and U/G has superior draw for sure. Plus you can play things like Rapid Hybridization and Curse of the Swine and not worry about the downsides as your stuff will almost always be bigger. Oh and Kiora, the Crashing Wave looks like she'll be a sweet 'walker for those colors, to me. At worst she gets you a card and an extra land, and at best she can use her +1 to protect herself from their biggest threat and get you a Kraken making emblem.

Go for it, I've always loved Simic, and would be interested to see someone finally use it to the full extent of its power.

Not only is it playable I've been running UG Ramp Post Rotation since Theros came out and have been doing amazingly well with it.

I think a UG Ramp Flash deck could be incredibly good.

i like kioras follower. but i dont know if id replace voyagin satyr with it. i think that being able to untap your satyr would be part of the combo, and what draw spell would you guys play? divination?? i really like where green blue is heading. and i love the prime speaker for beats and draw, hes worth so much in the blue green devo deck

@DrFunk27: UG Flash is a thing; it's definitely a different deck than one that uses Green Devotion, and there isn't any ramp, but it allows for responsive play with all Flash creatures and lots of counterspells.

@C3willuhz: I've never been a fan of Divination since it only nets one card. Jace, Architect of Thought is good in almost any GU deck, and if there's ramp/lots of creatures involved, Garruk, Caller of Beasts and Prime Speaker Zegana are probably the best bets, tho you could also go for Opportunity .
