Jund - where you be??

I have been brewing lately with my favorite 3 colors, and have had mixed results.
Can we put our minds together and come up with a brew that can survive the meta? I think it would have to be similar to Jund in modern / legacy where it relies on hand disruption, card advantage, and playing value creatures.
I think dragons would have to be included in this meta, but not sure if a 4 color jund strategy would be needed. Splashing white gives us rhino, splashing blue lets us counter stuff.
Discuss people!
I really like the thought of playing Den Protector alongside Thoughtseize and Kolaghan's Command, but I just dont see Jund being superior to Abzan at the moment

Maybe a Jund MegaMorph - Company deck with a low curve featuring cards like rabble and the trusty denmistraptor combo?

Elvish Mystic and Sylvan Caryatid into Thunderbreak Regent, Stormbreath Dragon, and Kolaghan, the Storm's Fury, with Thoughtseize, Ultimate Price, and Hero's Downfall... sounds pretty fun to me

I've been trying to brew Jund for standard as well but have gone Abzan until I can put a list together that I feel confident to run. We still have Jund Monsters shell pretty well intact with added dragons such as Dragonlord Atarka and Thunderbreak Regent.
But I don't know how well Monsters would actually run currently. I've seen some good results from gruul aggro as well, adding the black seemed to hinder it.
like someone else mentioned the land base kind of blows. we do have access to two fetches Wooded Foothills and Bloodstained Mire but other then that your running more temples then you'd possibly care too and and maybe some painlands.
You also mention playing it control which might be the way to go. The problem with Jund atm thought is its mana costs for spells it wants to cast. Courser of Kruphix Thunderbreak Regent and Hero's Downfall are all key cards but as you can see require double mana of EACH colour.
You'd almost have to chose between doing R/B,G/B and R/G then lightly splash the other colour needed to make Jund. I would not suggest doing 4 colours either. The mana would not get any better and you'd have a harder time Casting spells you need to on time.
The last list I put down was this one if your interested. Jund's Playground!

UpperDeckerTaco, will this list suffice what you've said? Jund Dragon Whip.

Viral_Assassin: I would drop the Atarka's Command. The command just isn't as good in a dragon deck as it is in red aggro because the +1/+1 to all creatures loses its potency when you only swing with 2 or 3 creatures per turn. And the 3 damage being unable to remove problematic creatures makes it a poor choice if you are looking for burn. If you are looking for a combat trick then Butcher's Glee and Temur Battle Rage are better choices. For burn Crater's Claws and Draconic Roar are much better choices. Or you could just main board Thoughtsieze, because disruption is always good

As someone who built & piloted a competitive Modern-style Jund deck last Standard season (Standard Modern Jund: Welcome back DRS!(Top 4 FNM)), I feel it would be extremely difficult to replicate with the current card pool. There are a lot of elements missing:
-EFFICIENT REMOVAL: Abrupt Decay, Dreadbore, Golgari Charm, Devour Flesh, and Mizzium Mortars are all gone, and this bevy of 2-drop removal is what made the deck fast. Ultimate Price, Roast, and Bile Blight are all downgrades in a 3-color deck. There won't be any reason to trim down from 4 Thoughtseize and 4 Hero's Downfall, and Murderous Cut should probably make an appearance.
-CREATURES THAT WORK W/ REMOVAL: Deathrite Shaman and Scavenging Ooze can't be matched. However, the Den Protector/Deathmist Raptor package would be brutal in a grindy deck like this, and are auto-playsets.
Other options: Warden of the First Tree at 1-drop since he plays well with Instant-speed removal. Altac Bloodseeker and Pain Seer are a couple under-the-radar options for 2's, or you could go more defensive with Sylvan Caryatid or Satyr Wayfinder. Reaper of the Wilds was surprisingly a better finisher than Desecration Demon in my earlier version due to resiliency and better card quality when teamed with removal. Tasigur, the Golden Fang is another solid curve-topper.
-RAKDOS'S RETURN: because Rakdos's Return is Rakdos's Return.

If I were building the deck, it would look something very roughly like this:
24x Land (too lazy, but veer heavily Golgari)
SPELLS
4x Thoughtseize
1x Roast
3x Bile Blight
CREATURES
In the end, it may be more consistent to cut out the Red altogether and go straight Golgari, but that obviously defeats the purpose of the thread =)

I have not bought into the den raptor combo yet. Maybe later down the line. Instead of reaper, I would probably run both dragon lords as added fuel the air. The list I mentioned above actually went 4-0 last week at fnm, but that's fnm, so not sure what to think of it

I was just going for a Modern-style Jund as opposed to like Jund Monsters, which is probably how your deck would be described (not too many Modern Jund decks play 7-drops :-p).
Anyways, Modern Jund tries to win the war of attrition by dominating the 1-for-1 game. Efficient removal works toward this end for tempo, and the creatures beat the opponent's removal by producing value at low CMCs- oftentimes by feeding off your removal or their dead creatures. Anything that doesn't trade favorably with Hero's Downfall should be avoided (ie big, expensive creatures that don't protect themselves).
That's why I see the Den Raptor combo being such shoe-in for this style of deck: they are both amazing values at their costs. It's also why Reaper is an underrated finisher that gives you a source of inevitability.

I will say tho, this conversation has inspired me to build a Rock deck.

Btw, since a Morph strategy was mentioned, I feel obligated to give a plug for my homies Qarsi High Priest & Sultai Emissary with the Den Raptor combo. Careful though, you may soon find yourself playing Grim Haruspex too.

I have wasted hours and hours on Jund to no avail. The mana is terrible and Abzan just does the things Jund would do except better right now.
There is a new list from the MOCs that focuses on the Deathmist + Den Protector interaction but that is a multi-format tourney.
