Killing Planeswalkers

Detention Sphere. Searing Spear. Sometimes Oblivion Ring. Or Dreadbore.

But how does a BUG deck kill a planeswalker? Abrupt Decay or Bramblecrush seem like pretty mediocre options for that.

counterspells, cyclonic rift... ummm that's it I think.

I was afraid of that. Cyclonic Rift is pretty decent though, good call

BUG in Standard has a few answers to Planeswalkers. Vraska the Unseen can kill other Planeswalkers along with Abrupt Decay. Any type of counterspell can prevent them from hitting the battlefield. Cyclonic Rift is a good one too. Hope that helps!

I used Bramblecrush to great effect that way in this deck - The Doom That Came To Sarnath.

Other than that, your best bet are the ol' counterspells. Most BUG decks like Syncopate.

Wow I forgot all about Bramblecrush.

Sylvan Primordial works, though it's probably too slow for most cases.

Counter with Dissipate.

"Hey, nice Gideon, Champion of Justice, I think I'll just exile it."

Dinrova Horror, Devastation Tide, Descent into Madness, Archon of the Triumvirate (it seems all these options are only temporary for BUG against planeswalkers)

The Archon doesn't fit into BUG.

I'm leaning towards one each of Pithing Needle and Bramblecrush, with a few Negates and such to try and keep them off the table.

And a Vraska the Unseen for style points if I can get my hands on one!

Oh! Don't forget about Conjured Currency! It's unbelievably slow, but it works.
