Hey you deck builders and standard enthusiasts, in your opinion, what is the new home for Stereo-Typical Control in Standard? Pre-Rotation it was all Esper all day, but now Post-Rotation we don't really know where to take it. I've seen Esper make a come back with Empty the Pits , then America Walkers with Sarkhan, Jace, and Elspeth. A few of us at my LGS are dabbling in Bant Walkers and I myself have made a flat U/W control. It seems like the possibilities fro Control are endless right now. Will the Meta control focus one deck or many? Feel free to speak your mind.

I think people are ignoring the golden colors of control, Sultai. People have been so stuck on white being in control lists for so long I think that they have forgotten good old attrition based 1-1 decks that eventually grind you out. I have a creatureless, 'walkerless control build that (after some recent tweaking) is I think very well situated to be the next big thing. It more or less wrecks midrange, and has had some trouble with jeskai burn type lists, but a few changes I've made I think help save it. A lot of Sultai control lists also play the Courser of Kruphix Sylvan Caryatid Prognostic Sphinx package, and that's good too.

I know several other users and myself are working on Mardu control lists. We'll all be tweaking them after everyone posts their FNM results from last week.

Similar to mine here:

Madru, Jeskai, and Boros tap out control seem to be the best positioned control decks within the current meta. Grixis seems like it could make a splash too but it seems to have trouble playing from behind.

I'm testing Grixis at the moment, I'm a little biased since its my favourite colours but here's my current list.

I feel that control needs to have a few key elements: a hard wipe, card advantage, life gain, and a reliable win condition. Since End Hostilities is the only decent hard wipe and Blue has the best card advantage as per usual, UWx still seems like the way to go. My vote goes to Esper, as you can play 8 Fetches to fuel Dig Through Time and Treasure Cruise , have access to premium removal, and an additional great win con with Empty the Pits .

Also, since life gain is so critical, one sleeper card that may make a splash in control lists is Resolute Archangel .
