Do you guys think the new origins card Managorger Hydra is viable in Atarka Red aggro decks? with all the low cost cards, it could become huge in no time.
i have seem lots of deck run Thunderbreak Regent, which costs 4, so 3 shouldnt be too much of a problem.

The difference being Thunderbreak Regent is already a 4/4 when he enters...

also Thunderbreak Regent is a good topdeck in the lategame. I doubt Managorger Hydra will be a highly competitive card because it can't be drawn late game and get value.

No, it probably won't get played in any deck. Too slow for RDW.

I am testing one hydra in Elves, a deck that can play it and make it a 3/3 on turn 3, and it's still not great.

Plus Thunderbreak Regent deals damage if they try to kill it, and it has evasion. With Managorger Hydra, you need play other things before you can even attack with it, since it starts as a 1/1.

Managorger Hydra is not as powerful a card as it seems at the beginning for Standard. Unlike Thunderbreak Regent and other powerful standard cards as Stormbreath Dragon, Goblin Rabblemaster, etc. it can't win the game by itself. It is powerful but not efficient.

I would argue that it can win games alone it just needs to be left alone for 3 to 4 turns before it ccan do that, and that doens't work well. (for commander though, I've loved it late or early, enough spells get played in multiplayer that it's always good for me)
