Maybe getting back into Standard

Standard forum

Well I have been away from Standard for a long time, focusing most of my efforts on Modern and EDH, but I kind of want to play again. I am not really familiar with how the format is doing right now so I guess I would like suggestions on what deck might be good. Preferably a deck that would stay away from Jace, Vryn's Prodigy  Flip and Eldrazi as I feel that probably everyone is playing those decks. I am not necessarily against playing those decks though. Anyeay, any and all suggestions are appreciated. Thanks guys.

I mean Standard is rotating out here in another couple weeks. We're losing fetches and a bunch of other good stuff that found its way into Modern, not to mention SOI is bringing a lot of potential to the table, so asking where Standard stands is a really rough question right now. Best just to watch what happens following rotation.

I feel like an up and comer is G/W humans.

SOI brings a lot to the table and DoK has a fair few humans to add to the bunch (Den Protector for a start.)

Topping the curve with a value engine like Sigarda, Heron's Grace seems good.

Also, something to note, in a Humans build Kytheon, Hero of Akros  Flip is a human. Giving Sigarda indestructible while she can grant your field hexproof seems.... Strong.

Collected Company is going to be arguably the strongest card in the format, certainly in Green. Coco Werewolves is almost a certainty.

Esper Dragons will still be something, I think. Though that may shift, Grixis looks pretty strong in control too.

It's going to be an interesting format coming up. It certainly won't go the way of RTR/THS standard.
