Mono-black seems to be in a desirable position right now, with a plethora of powerful creatures and removal. Do you think that its omnipotence will carry over to post-RTR standard?

CrudeOne Yes, I was referring to mono-black devotion. I agree that it will probably be dead after RTR. Mono-black aggro, however, has nowhere to go but up.

I'll say the same thing I say in every other thread like this: it's pointless to begin speculating now. M15 isn't out yet, and we don't even have spoilers for it or Huey. Either, or both, of those sets could bring cards that completely change the way we think about any given deck. We won't know what new tools we get until we see spoilers at least.

All speculation has only 1 point. It's fun. We could all sit silently until Huey comes out or we can analyze what we know will be lost, make up what might replace it and dream that some color combo that we like might come to power. We all know it will be wrong but so what. It's fun guessing.

@IonImplant: I wouldn't say that speculation has only that one point. Many players speculate in order to determine ahead of time what decks they should build or might face, or how to invest, or what to do with their existing cards.
While it's certainly a fair point that speculating for fun is less constrained by reality, serious speculation still is.

Epochalyptik: Personally, I think mono black already has the tools it needs to survive, regardless of M15 or Huey. I just wanted to know whether to invest or not.

CrudeOne It seems that Mono-Black will diverge into two seperate archetypes: a more aggresive strategy, mono-black aggro, and the controlling version, UB Control.
