Is it possible to have a successful mono blue deck in standard right now? I'm thinking just shutting down the opponent completely and swinging with delvers and invisible stalkers that have runechanter's pikes

I think it's possible. Check out the build I'm working with and let me know what you think.

Well if you want to be competitive, then no, mono blue is not viable, since manafixing is amazing right now and the other colors offer so much more. Also, blue's two main features - bounce and countermagic - have been nerfed by Thragtusk and Cavern of Souls , respectively. If you play a mono-blue deck, expect to be killed on turn 4 by Naya Blitz, overpowered by Jund/Bant/Junk's value creatures, or outgrinded by Esper's Nephalia Drownyard s and Sphinx's Revelation s.

Conley Woods, Travis Woo, and Crypt Gahst disapprove of the idea mono-black is bad

I think it was Travis Woo on "Horde of Notions" last week who said "Thragtusk is the best blue creature in Standard".

That should give you a hint at both the viability of multicolored decks at the moment, and the relative power level of blue creatures compared to others.

Mono-colored everything is bad right now. Even RDW is sidelined by the presence of Gruul Aggro.

I thought about building a Battle of Wits mono-blue deck. Basically a 250 card mega-permission deck.
