I don't have the money for all the lands required to go full 3 colors right now, and I'm sick of mono red aggro or green devotion as the only mono colored options, so I've set out to make the most competitive 2 color deck possible in the current standard. What do you guys think has good synergy right now?
g/b. it's somewhat more expensive, but you have access to major kill spells, bloodsoaked champion, apex, nissa, bile blight, courser, thoughtseize, caryatid, man I can go on forever....

One of my friends is really just wiping the floor with my meta right with a U/W heroic deck right now. It has that perfect balance of beatdown and card advantage to beat midrange, and outrun aggro with lifegain. He's using Hero of Iroas, Seeker of the Way, Battlewise Hoplite, Eidolon of Countless Battles, Aqueous Form, Defiant Strike, Gods Willing, etc., etc. Plus, its pretty inexpensive, other than the fetches.

and are powerful and versatile right now. These color pairs are the base of the popular Abzan, Jeskai, and Mardu decks.

Haha. So everyone is arguing for...everything. :p Seriously though...in top competitions...U/W is doing better than most other dual color builds...on average anyway...it is the most prevalent in the top...though not always the top. So take that as you will.

R/G monsters is kicking ass right now. Played my version of it last FNM against some very competitive players and only lost two games all night won every match. dropping a turn 2 Goblin Rabblemaster or a turn 3 Stormbreath Dragon /Sarkhan, the Dragonspeaker is devestating. I played against U/W U/B and every other deck listed. An Abzan deck was the only one to win games against me. faced him once in round 2 then again in the finals and he won one game each time other than that 2-0 every other deck.

Statistically, G/b is by far the most popular two color combination. Green Devotion splashing black is one of the biggest decks in the format, following that is R/G Monsters pretty far behind and even farther than that is U/W and U/B control.

Although, personally I'd like to see a good B/W or B/R midrange list.

Honestly a lot of the two colors decks right now are pretty aggro. Black/White aggro is really strong with Chief of the Edge , Sorin, Solemn Visitor , and all the other good cards. Red/White aggro is also a thing if you've been watching some of the pro tours and looking at not just the top 8 decks. The cool thing about red/white is that you can got the token route, or burn, or balls to the walls aggro. As an added bonus, boros decks are usually pretty cheap! TolarianCommunityCollege has an OUTSTANDING blue/white heroic deck for $20 that has some serious power to it. The last thing I know of is Green/White aggro. I know it's not what it used to be but it's still super impressive! Hardened Scales can be easily abused especially with Phalanx Leader , Fabled Hero , and Abzan Battle Priest or Abzan Falconer or Ainok Bond-Kin .

Either R/G Monsters, U/B Control, or U/W Control.
