[MTGO SIgnup free cards] Are they Standard?

Sorry if the title is confusing. I have been thinking about playing MTGO. I understand you get a couple hundred cards free ( I assume all common and uncommon at best) Are they Standard or all over the place? Thank you,

If I remember right they are all taken from the newest core set, so they are standard. And it does seem like some old player just gave you the leftovers from some packs they got. You do also get the gold bordered cards which can make some good decks for casual play though.

You will get some really good gold bordered cards. But it should be noted that they have no value and cannot be traded. They are only allowed in the planeswalker format as well.

Ok, cool. I appreciate the info. I currently only plan to play standard, so the though of spending and getting a bunch of cards that I couldn't use was a serious deterrent. It's only 10.00 but still :)
