I for one am not going to miss Mutavault
.
Anything Dimir Mill. Stop pigeonholing B/U into terrible resource management and actually give the two colors some love for once. WoTC loves to take this cheap way out.

Not gonna miss Lifebane Zombie or Cyclonic Rift .
Definitely gonna miss Legion's Initiative , any of the charms and Brave the Elements . :P

I don't know... I don't play standard very often, and when I do, I play turbo fog, because I don't care at all...
So...
I guess... Umm.... Elvish Mystic ?

Detention Sphere , AEtherling , Supreme Verdict , Cyclonic Rift , Archangel of Thune , Blood Baron of Vizkopa , Boros Reckoner , Voice of Resurgence , Nightveil Specter , and Obzedat, Ghost Council . These are the ones I can't wait to see leave. This is coming from a person who hates control with a passion too.

Putrefy, jace is getting reprinted in next set. sorry bud. haha

Hmmm, as far as Standard is concerned, I'm not gonna miss Unflinching Courage . But I'm REALLY gonna miss the entire Cult of Rakdos T___T

Dreno33- Yeah, I think Putrefy may have a problem with the RtR variant specifically. Jace the Mind Sculptor doesn't hit Jund as hard, I'd wager.
And KnightsBattlecry001, you just named most of my "grr" cards.

targeted removal, i hate it, but board wipes amuse me, since I run Golgari Charm , just love seeing people react when they boardwipe, and I regen all my creatures.

Not missing AEtherling for sure... It's too annoying, and too boring to play with...

I will be glad to see Supreme Verdict and Detention Sphere rotate. I will severely miss Brave the Elements and all the great Golgari cards. The only love for Golgari since RTR block has been Whip of Erebos and Reaper of the Wilds . Thanks WotC. Real nice. I anticipate Journey into Nyx will have Golgari love, but I won't hold my breath.

all the control hate. what's wrong with control?!
personally i'm not gonna miss any of the big green stuff. Burning-Tree Emissary , Worldspine Wurm (you laugh, but i've seen this guy on t3 enough times to make me puke), i also will not miss white aggro-y things. Boros Reckoner , Ethereal Armor . yuck.
Control Forever!

loved it for a while, but I'm looking forward to seeing control try new things

But honestly, RTR in general was great and I will be sad to see it go.
Theros is not nearly as exciting to me. Looking forward to whatever is next!

I'm absolutely sick of the default Sphinx's Revelation control deck. It was cool for a little while, but I just can't stand that the entire package is a staple in the deck, and there's little to no alteration available.
Also, Dreno33, Where are you getting that Jace, Architect of Thought will be reprinted? The dual decks don't count as part of the next set, and that version will be rotating just as the original.

I'm gonna dance on the grave of that son of a bitch Desecration Demon . Plus, screw control. Honestly it was favored for a while early on in the RtR block, but then came Gruul, so I was happy.
March 14, 2014 11:47 a.m.
thatonecrzyguy me too! i was dancing the Gruul War Chant XD
March 14, 2014 12:21 p.m.
ThatBlueMage, oh ok, i didn't know that. well good. because I was pissed when I saw the reprinted Remand . i was thinking standard is gonna suck now haha. but ok, good.

Pack Rat can go the way of the "dodo" as far as I'm concerned. Im sick of losing to that card from out of nowhere
March 14, 2014 1:22 p.m.
@strongwalker agreed, I think RtR was a better block than what we've gotten so far from Theros block, and it's crazy to think of all the control staples rotating, Azorius Charm Detention Sphere Supreme Verdict and Sphinx's Revelation all gone. I'll be looking into what I can play/build post roto, so far I'm only seeing Elspeth, Sun's Champion along side Brimaz, King of Oreskos which isn't even that synergestic, just two white cards you could technically jam into the foundation of a deck..
March 14, 2014 1:37 p.m.
It wasn't as apparent about 6 months ago, but now that almost EVERY deck runs at least a pair of Mutavault coupled with it's insane price increase, that is sure to subside and dwindle back down to earthly quantifiable numbers like ~$20, the fact that even casual players who want to become more competetive need to go out and drop close to $150 on four colorless man-lands, that alone is warping the format to a degree and I will be happy to see it removed from the equation, as I've been mainboarding cards like Last Breath specifically to target Mutavault which can also come to an end once it rotates.
March 14, 2014 2:14 p.m.
To be honest, I am in awe of how well constructed the Ravnica block has been, how cool of a meta it sprung about, the wealth of cool and unique mechanics it promoted, and it's overall flavor. I've been deeply disappointed in the Theros block and find the devotion decks to be silly. I'm also not big on its thematics and feel the block also holds very little high-powered and unique cards.
I will miss you, Ravnica.
March 14, 2014 2:28 p.m.
TheDevicer for me Ravnica not only this block but the 1st one too, meaning the whole plane of ravnica was very well build IMO best plane made so far, and RTR has reached MTG climax at least for me all cards story and cycle abilities are very well designed
March 14, 2014 2:38 p.m.
The maze idea was really cool, I'd like to see some cool shit at the end.
March 14, 2014 7:30 p.m.
Not gonna miss Blood Baron of Vizkopa , not even a little bit. He gets protection form so many things!
Pack Rat as well, cant believe that hasnt got any more mentions than it has. When your opponent slams that on turn 2 you can look at your hand and tell right there if you are going to lose that game. Not fun :/
March 15, 2014 9:27 a.m.
I won't miss Sphinx's Revelation . Include-or-die cards are why I stay away from archetypes, and Sphinx's Revelation turns me off of Esper control entire.

RTR cards in U/W control. The deck isn't much fun to play against nor have i found it the least bit entertaining to play. And the mirror match... Yawn...
I will miss Abrupt Decay . And my pet card Deadbridge Chant ...
March 28, 2014 5:52 p.m.
I'm not gonna miss Spire Tracer ,and probably no-one else will either.

I for one appreciate most cards in the format for what they do, however i do have a few cards that i find just not fun to play against...
Blood Baron of Vizkopa This card...is rough. Must be nice to play, incredibly frustrating to play against. Half because pro black and white is insane, and half because both decks i've run this season are incredibly vulnerable to it.
Sphinx's Revelation This card is too powerful for standard IMO, and i'm kind of sick of seeing it. I'd like to see Grixis control make a comeback and not all these W/U/x lists.
Besides those cards i'm pretty okay with how the state of standard looks. I believe it is fairly healthy right now, that being said It's not too fun to play. I'm ready for a change of pace, i can't wait till rotation. Until then i'll be playing a lot of modern.

looking forward to losing shocklands, building decks around them is expensive.
March 28, 2014 8:21 p.m.
I'm so glad to see U/W control finally freaking die. Sphinx's Revelation , Supreme Verdict , Detention Sphere , and Mutavault can burn in hell for eternal damnation.
U/W control was such a turn off to standard, every FNM the top 4 was 3 U/W and MAYBE a G/R. How can a deck have an answer to every dingle card I play... RRRRRRRRRRRRRR!

Lifebane Zombie , Jace, Architect of Thought , Sphinx's Revelation , Supreme Verdict , Detention Sphere , Desecration Demon , former Jund-Monsters player speaking :)
