Naya still possible?

As post rotation hits, I'm wondering if Naya could still be a competitive colour scheme once rotation hits. Would it be more mid-range, could it still be aggro? With the loss of Huntmaster of the Fells  Flip and Thundermaw Hellkite and Flinthoof Boar , is it going to be a really crippled scheme? I'm looking to build a new deck, so I'm wondering..

It's impossible to say until we see more Theros spoilers. Right now, the best anyone can do is guess.

Because midrange is losing many important creatures, post-rotation midrange decks will certainly not look the same. However, midrange may remain a viable strategy. It depends largely on the quality of the creatures in Theros, because RTR-block didn't bring the same powerhouse package to midrange that M13 and ISD-block did.

I swear I just wrote this answer in the thread about post-rotation Esper. "We don't really know until we see more of Theros, Esper will look different because it loses an important creature."

Probably the same thing will get written in the next thread about the post-rotation metagame too.

Okay, as a "What if" situation, what if Theros didn't offer anything, and it was a fizzle. (However unlikely that is..) What do you think then? Would it be dead, or would it have a glimmer of hope?

Tri-color decks will most likely fall out or favor for Dual-colored depending on weather or not Theros brings in any duals (My bet currently is enemy fast lands like Razorverge Thicket ). The mana base probably isn't going to be able to consistently support tri-color.

Wizards mission statement lately has been that they want to slow the format down and make it so people can play the big creatures. Keeping that in mind it seems like slower format = strong midrange pieces.

It's not possible for Theros to have no midrange creatures unless the dev team completely dropped the ball. Theoretically, though, you'd have to make do with cards like Boros Reckoner , Ghor-Clan Rampager , and Archangel of Thune .

There's also Advent of the Wurm , Armada Wurm and the like.

I'm interested to see what lands Theros brings because they'll have an enormous impact on what kind of decks are playable.

Either way I'm going to be W/G focused personally, I just don't know what my companion color will be. U, R, or B.

A friend of mine (and many other people I'm sure) is looking at Naya hexproof, with Madcap Skills , Boros Charm , stuff like that, besides the tools already in Bant hexproof.

Here's some Naya replacements that might be viable going forward. Obviously better ones will most likely be in Theros, but this is what we have for now.

2-drops to replace Flinthoof Boar & still keep synergy with Burning-Tree Emissary : Brushstrider , Disciple of the Old Ways , Skylasher , Scavenging Ooze , Gyre Sage , Skarrg Guildmage , Goblin Shortcutter , Gore-House Chainwalker .

4-drops since we lose Hellrider and Huntmaster of the Fells  Flip : Briarpack Alpha , Rubblebelt Raiders , Ogre Battledriver , Bloodfray Giant , Spark Trooper , Tajic, Blade of the Legion , Fortress Cyclops .

The almighty 5-drop: Kalonian Hydra , Archangel of Thune , Zhur-Taa Ancient

If the format slows down (and it's looking like it might), 6-drops like Aurelia, the Warleader might be more common.
