New Standard with Winding Constrictor
Standard forum

I am sure that this question has already been asked so, moderators, please remove this if I am beating a dead horse but here it goes. With the new -1/-1 counters theme for Amonkhet, will this put a huge damper on GB or GBx Snake Daddy decks or am I completely misunderstanding its ability. Seems like even when your opponent goes to put -1/-1 counters on your stuff you would be screwed. Can someone clarify for me?
Well, they are not doubled. You get that many counters plus one so 3 -> 4 -1/-1 counters for example.

With so many ways to put -1/-1 counters on Creatures in the new set Snek Deck is kind of dead in the water.

Just because there are lots of ways to produce -1/-1 counters in the new set doesn't mean many, if any, are going to be a viable form of removal in standard. They do next to nothing against saheeli combo.

Snek Deck wasn't doing well in the world of Mardu Vehicles and Copy Cat as it was.

Ya Argeaux that's what I was thinking. The Winding Constrictor gameplan does have potential still but I feel like anyone using it has to be way more careful. Hopefully we see bannings and such for the combo or other things, but even so with the new -1 theme, going in on sneks seems too risky :/.

A pretty complex question,i dont beleive green black currently has the power to stand up to a meta geared against it like cat and vehicles but it obviously wont come to that because quite frankly it isnt that good, personally if i was going to keep running green black I would switch to less of a snek angle and more of the delerium angle that way a sideboard plan with the snake going in and out depending on matchup becomes more viable, but then again we have that new grave hate cat which shits on delerium although with the new fuse or split cards and artifact creatures we might be able to stick on delerium with just 2 cards or at least be 1 type away. Thats just tier 2 thinking though the type of rogue list we might see in the top 32 of a gp here and there besides that unless black green gets some serious +1 power and more above curve creats it wont be tier 1

Delerium usually wins in the mid to late game, which is too slow for the current meta.
This is if you aren't focused around Aetherworks Marvel.
Graveyard hate in the Sideboard is going to make the mid to late Delerium win much more difficult.
IMO

If Winding Constrictor is out, any -1/-1 counters placed on your creatures by the opponent are still doubled. I doubt the deck is dead, but it is far more risky to play now.
