a monstrous hundred handed one giant with Indestructibility . block everything all the time essentially nullifying combat damage unless unblckable.
also daxos looks like he might break magic. with all the unblockable things going around for the lower creatures. him and medomai could be stupid together as well

Daxos looks ridiculous. Like a Nightveil Specter but better.

I wonder now if they're making the major gods in colors easy to get and keep devotion in slightly worse. The white and green ones are disappointing compared to the blue one. The main advantage i see is being able to spam enchantments for things that get boosts from more enchantments. I do kinda like the Heroic Clone the fact that it can keep morphing is always enjoyable as well. Shame it has to be the mechanic i currently least like from Theros. Also that new green ramp card looks like it could be great in EDH decks but generally seems to costly for a ramp card. Almost like Gilded Lotus in that sense. Polis Crusher is just funny may as well say "protection from gods" the way things are going. XD

@beakedbard, whats wrong with heroic, its an interesting mechanic, and there are some cards it pairs extremely well with, Young Pyromancer for example

Aye i agree that it could be an amazing thing outside of standard generally most spells you use to target your creatures in standard are enchantments which don't pair well with Young Pyromancer
. If things like Increasing Savagery
and other nice sorc/inst buffs were still in I'd love it. Perhaps my wording was off its my least favorite mechanic for standard in Theros. If someone can give me some examples i will eat my words but as it is i don't see it as that great.

hundred handed one does not have indestructible...just vigilance and reach. Guardian of the Gateless is a WAY better option if you were to go that route, as it too can block as many creatures as you want it to, but gets bigger for each blocked. on defense it is at the very minimum a 4/4, on offense it is a 3/3. also hundred handed one costs 4 intiallly to drop as a 3/5, then another 6 cmc to turn it into a 6/8 with reach. in comparison Guardian of the Gateless costs 1 more intially, but can be made god mode with Holy Mantle for another 4. same can be done with hundred handed one, although he will not pump on the blocks...

Heroic would work quite well with bloodrush, but as far as i can see the only decent heroic dude is the guy for double white, and there's not a lot that would be good in a mono white deck to use with heroic.

i'm excited about ashiok, finally, a U/B walker that doesn't need an artifact deck to be useful

Guys, how about Cipher cards and Heroic COMBINED? Reusable effects over and over again...

What I'm interested in is the rest of the weapons from the deities. They have only spoiled Nylea's Bow and Purphorous's hammer so far.
Still craving the artifacts for Trading Post :)

Correction, they have spoiled the Blue, Green, and Red weapons but not Heliod's (white) or the black one

@khanye:
Scry lands would be good if the format does slow down as wizards intends. If the amount of aggro decks diminishes, midrange and control decks will appreciate the scry lands.
I don't think they needed to waste rare slots on these, but they try to keep a set balanced for block/draft/sealed so I trust 'em :)

Ya, they are ok as lands, sucks they are rares. Upgraded guildgates pretty much, and I don't think aggro will slow down. The only thing that will change is aggro will go mono or dual color and imo become more potent, while midrange / control decks that essentially need that 3rd color to combat aggro more effectively will have a harder time. Not everything is spoiled yet so I'm not as mad, but so far gruul aggro seems to not have lost a beat.

I think Heliod is pretty subpar. The Hundred-Handed One made me laugh though.
