A debate for the ages!
Right now I'm toying with the idea of a Grixis control deck, and I'm leaning more towards Omenspeaker than Stormcaller of Keranos . Omenspeaker drops earlier, digs deeper, and blocks more.
I imagine Stormcaller of Keranos would see more value in more aggressive builds. Or just Limited. I'm having trouble seeing where it would be useful. Makes me sad, really. Stormcaller of Keranos has way better art.
What do you think? When would you go with one over the other?
That is some killer logic right there! Definitely secures Omenspeaker the slot, and outlines its control pros very well!
I'll have to remember to fold this kind of big-picture logic into my deckbuilding in the future. Thanks a bunch!

I would definitely go with Omenspeaker . It let's you dig deeper right off the bat, instead of having to spend two mana, which could otherwise be used on things like Underworld Connections 's trigger or Ultimate Price or any burn spell. Sure, Stormcaller of Keranos puts out more damage quicker, but think about it this way, Desecration Demon is only one mana more. Nightveil Specter and Herald of Torment are the same mana cost. All of these are bigger threat's if you are trying to put out threats.
That said, I think that you should definitely try more of a control shell with Omenspeaker . I just don't see how well an aggressive grixis deck can do in the meta. Good luck with your deck and I hope I helped!
