Hey guys,
is anyone else also already cheering for the Omniscience Draft War of the Sparks which will start tomorrow? :-)
These drafts are imho the most fun in all of magic.
What's your opinion on Omniscience Draft?
Yeah, it's an Arena special event, but I didn't found any subforum where this really fits.
Basically, you draft a deck, your starting hand has only three cards and all your spells are free, lots and lots of fun. Had some really nice first turn kills when Omniscience Draft was last around (think it was Dominaria draft).
Tamiyo's Epiphany will be really OP.

the finales will be terrible rares to pull, narset will also just be the best card to pull, but a lot less draw effects in each color than core 2019 omni draft.

Draft blue, get all the cards that read "draw a card" on them, win the dice roll. Most Omnidrafts follow this song and dance routine. They are spicy, splashy, but also incredibly similar between sets. Nice gimmick, but I was bored with it after the first couple of drafts.
And the fact that the only reason it works at all is that the bots on Arena do not account for the gimmick and draft normally.
The finales have some uses are a good thing to draft - every turn, you can use an activated ability of the emblem to add WUBRG to your mana pool. So, you can at least play finales for 3.

You can play the Finales with X=5 imo, isn´t? The WUBRG pays for 5 colorless and the emblem for the 2 colored mana?
If you can only sneak in less than 10 drafts in these four days, at least I won´t get tired of it and I always got out with a nice plus in gems in these events. :-)

ACtually, I thought about it a bit more and no, you cannot play the finales without X=0, unless you choose not to use the emblem, which is probably not an option.
If you choose to play an X cost card without paying its mana cost, you cannot choose a value for X, it will always be 0.
