Why is Polis Crusher not seeing more play? a 4/4 trampler for 4 is comparable to Ghor-Clan Rampager stats, AND it has the benefit of not being able to be targeted, blocked, damaged by the "gods", Banishing Light , or Detention Sphere .
It should see some more play in sideboard at least but it really hasn't. What gives?
With all of the enchantments/enchantment creatures in the current format it only seems right to include him SOMEWHERE
Let's wait till post rotation. I think he'll see more play then, when theros enchantments rule the world. For right now, it's still just situational and not that big of an impact card based on what's already available. g/r mosnters doesn't need him, they are explosive enough and have ways to deal with enchantments already to keep the things they want/need in play.

I tried him out in G/R Monsters a while ago. He was okay but not great. I think with more enchantment creatures seeing play he could be better now.

Expect him to see more play once rotation hits. In fact, it's probably worth investing in him. Enchantments are on the rise due to few popular decks being able to handle them. I think he'll start to see regular play soon.

ghor clan rampager is only played because it has blood rush. a 4/4 trampler sucks without a nice upside and polis crushers upside isn't needed at this point it. It will be played after rotation, he's good in block constructed

Eye Gouge was the end of Mutavault .
Poor Mutavault . It's a shame no one's using it anymore all because of Eye Gouge .

mutavault is a garbage card as long as the power house Eye Gouge is in the format. Thanks WOTC...

I know. I knew dropping $140 on 4 lands was risky, especially with all the other Cyclops hate they were printing.

I can't even think of a deck I didn't splash black for just to have access to Eye Gouge . Probably the best removal in the format if you ask me. Broken cards are broken

I agree that he will be better post rotation and i've already started my collection :)
What about using his monstrous ability to deal with an enchantment? Still not good yet and better post rotation? Can take out Assemble the Legion , Detention Sphere / Banishing Light , enchantment creatures, etc
PLUS it makes him bigger too

This thread some become an Appreciation Thread on Eye Gouge .

Well, after reading this thread I went and grabbed a playset for ~$2 (most in shipping) through eBay. It makes sense that this guy has some upside to him post rotation and the cost is absolutely trivial right now. I had picked up a playset of desecration demons pre-rotation for less then $1 each and that paid off. We'll see.

I think it's a good investment :) THere was a guy who came into my LGS and bought 17 copies of Polis Crusher for the investment purposes. Hope it pays off!
I hope mine does too so I'll at least have plenty of "trade bait" come rotation
May 14, 2014 9:28 a.m.
Actually, if you want to "invest" I would suggest Fleecemane Lion . Isn't that down to like $2 a card? Post rotation, this guy has to spike!

I have always had Polis Crusher in the Side board, he is really good, but only against specific match-ups.Polis Crusher come rotation will be a monster.

I doubt he'll see any play. Plenty of non enchantment creatures at the moment, and we'lll be getting m15 and heuy which probably won't have any at all.
May 17, 2014 3:15 a.m.
He's been seeing quite a bit of play in block for a while so theres a good chance he'll see some standard play

Block is the best way to predict what decks will be viable as well as what cards will be viable in the upcoming standard season

It's pretty narrow. While it has some obvious strengths against U/W-based control decks, it still just dies to Supreme Verdict and all the other removal.
It will likely see a significant level of play post-rotation once we're stuck with an entire enchantment block and not much else.
