Where have you gone Polukranos, World Eater ?

Sure he still shows up in MGD strategies but other than that he seems to have disappeared. Even in most of the RG decks.

Just surprised how quickly he fell.

How th3 great has fallen. I just threw a hank deck together with him to play last fnm and did pretty well. He did well. I just like playing with him with the Bow of Nylea. Attack, go monsterous, clear the board.

Still a great option for green devotion decks, but otherwise he is overshadowed by other 4 drops. The hasty Shaman of the Great Hunt and durable/evasive Ashcloud Phoenix are more effective in aggressive RGx builds, while Siege Rhino and Sidisi, Brood Tyrant provide more immediate value for midrange decks.

If you can make 11 mana, it's the best 4 drop. If you can't, it isn't and never was. RG decks used Xenagos, the Reveler to get there with the mana.

I had one lonely Polukranos, World Eater hanging around in my RG deck, a vestige of its origins as a MGD deck, but ihe got cut for my third Shaman of the Great Hunt. Easier to cast and more damage usually with that hasty swing. Luke normally bit it as soon as I announced "monstrous." Shaman can get the drop in as they're tapped out.

I will say that he does beat Siege Rhino , he just doesnt often actually get to do anything because of removal. At least the rhino has the lifeswing

Too many fat butts for its monstrous ability to really clear people out, it seems. I still have two in my Temur deck, but if I get more Shamans and Ashclouds he might get the boot - although I really do like that he can eat Rhinos for breakfast.

He has done fine in my surprising Legends deck with Hero's Blade. But hes really just there because he's legendary.

I still see polukranos as a two of honestly a 5/5 for 4 and only two of them have to be green vs the other wedge cards I am truly disappointed that he is not as good as he was but honestly I still run R/G monsters with him as a 3 of and it works well

He's used in the Temur combo deck.

I use 2 in Temur Monsters. He's good. 5/5 for 4 is solid, and he's one of the few dudes in Standard that can fight the Rhino. Also, his monstrosity can wipe out mana dorks in the mirror, and is also great against tokens. He's still a relevant card.

One of my friends at school is undefeated with his Polukranos deck. Even my Goblin token spam deck was incapable of stopping it. It only stalled my inevitable doom.

He is a huge threat that needs to be answered. If you've ever played a game where you didn't have removal on hand for him you were taking 5 of sacc'ing one of your dudes to his huge body. He also is usually cast on turn 3 which means if you're on the draw you are in huge trouble. I guess I am a little biased because I play a g/b devotion to constellation deck that abuses him at all costs. Usually monstrosity for 5-6+ and wiping the whole board. He's still a huge threat in standard.

There will always be powerful 4 drops that don't see a lot of play due to the dominant decks at the time and the absurdity of others at the same cmc.

You can spend 5 mana to Monstrous him. Eat two tokens or mana dorks...or 1-toughness enemies. It does work in a format with Elvish Mystic, Raise the Alarm, and Hordeling Outburst.

He was more relevant when the format was a little slower paced.

I suspect as Rabblemaster is making it's comeback, more midrange decks will go back at looking at this card as a possible solution to the problem It's key tech against weenie aggro, and it helps keep it in check. It is one of those cards that I feel is going to go in and out of decks for the rest of the standard season, depending on meta calls.

Rabblemaster actually seems to be on the decline since every deck with Red plays Wild Slash or Magma Spray out of the side, and if they're not playing Red, they're probably playing Bile Blight. If anything, Brimaz, King of Oreskos seems to be making a comeback in Rabblemaster's stead.
