ogre slum lord makes the rat pack more likable ..no?
Not really. Its expensive and weak. Its ability produces tokens that are vulnerable to pretty much everything burn wise, board clear wise and general creature blocking wise. It does give deathtouch which is nice but one of the only rat creatures in standard right now has deathtouch already and ironically it doesn't help to buff up rats biggest wincon - Pack Rat

Pack rat already causes card disadvantage on top of that and having a 5cmc creature in a rat deck is already undesirable. It could be fun in casual modern or something, but it probably won't see the light of day in standard.

Then again, some of the other rats already do things when they die, so the Ogre will just be an awesome added bonus that still powers up Pack Rat . AND it gives everything deathtouch, with is just another bonus.
Sure, it could have MORE synnergy, but it's still pretty awesome, methinks.

I view it kind of like Jar of Eyeballs ...
It could be powerful, if you have a repeatable sac device/combo to power it.
.... But if you have a repeatable sac device/combo, you should have already won with it before this card has a good effect.

Ogre slum lord is too expensive to play in Standard. I think he'd be fun in a casual tribal deck though.

Idk, they will all have Deathtouch, but the fact that Pack Rat makes tokens is kind of a bummer.
