So once Ravnica rotates out of standard is standard more likely to speed up or slow down? I'd like to get into standard once it rotates but not wanting to come into an ambush of Aggro decks

Well, first off, aggro is always going to be a part of standard, especially right after rotation.
Second, there's no way to tell because it's still a long while and we have 2 more sets to look at before that happens.

Personally, you will always get that aggro player. This standard, that aggro was MUD. But onto the main question, me and my friend feel that WOTC is slowing down the format for new players. Which is reasonable since standard tends to have the newer players. Weather or not you agree, every format will have aggro. Question is just how many.

Still have 3 more sets to look at. Journey, M15, and Huey (Some may say Warlords of Karharmedesh, but I'll believe it when I see it).
So basically, ask this question in 7 months.

yeah, it way to early to give a definitive answer. It all depends on whats to come. Although Supreme Verdict & Sphinx's Revelation will be gone, and those are whats really the backbone of U/W/x control. but again, still not enough cards to say.

@ThatBlueMage Ravnica rotates out when Huey rotates in. We don't see Huey before Ravnica goes out.

Cobthecobbler We'll see the spoilers for the set, so we'll have a couple weeks head start on it.

Yes, that.
If you play Magic for a living, you have your first decks made before the set is available for sale (ie, when rotation actually happens).
I've got a fairly firm grasp on how rotation works.
When I said that we still have 3 sets to see before we can determine the new meta, I would still be correct because we have to see the end of Theros, we have to see m15, and we have to see Huey. It's not like we're going to be building decks for post-rotation without the cards that will be available post-rotation.

I feel like the format has already slowed down since Innistrad-RTR, since the only aggro deck that wins on t4 consistently is RDW, whereas prerotation that seemed to be the norm. Selesnya and MUD are generally trying to win turn 5-6.
Anyways, I think it really depends on the dual-colored replacement for the Shock lands. Although many aggro decks are mono, the speed of multi-colored midrange/control will dictate how fast aggro needs to be to compete. Also, it will be interesting to see what board wipe replaces Supreme Verdict , as that will also influence the necessary speed of aggro.

Still hoping for fetches...even if they aren't technically duals.

O god yes please be fetch lands!. Then we can buy them like mad and horde them for modern. Because admit it, we all love fetch lands.
