I really havent spent anymore money on rtr block because soon it will rotate out How will this affect standard?? shocks will be gone and so will Jace, Architect of Thought we lose verdict, revelation, d-sphere what does theros block give us that change standard?? Board wipes? Draw power?? where do you think standard will "go" will it be pure heroic or devotion to the gods?? please tell me how you think standard will change and how to be prepared for what's to come!!!!

You're asking this question when we don't have half of the newest set spoiled, M15 doesn't get released until mid July and the new expansion won't drop for something about half a year. If someone gets this question right, it's either by seriously lucky guess or ESP.

lol i get that just want random ideas just to see what people want to see in the rotation even tho we dont even have ALL of journey to nyx

So the actual question you're asking is "what are hopes for the next expansion?"

@ Epochalyptik can we auto-hide anything with "post rotation" or "rotation ready" as part of its title?

One thing I predict is that new land Mana Confluence will be a money card. Unless they print/reprint some awesome lands in M15 or next expansion I can see that easily staying at the $20 preorder price or even going up.

That card has staple for multiple formats written all over it.

There's no possible way to answer this. I wish everyone would stop asking.

It's also worth noting that control doesn't HAVE to be the most powerful decks in standard, and you shouldn't worry about a specific archetype rotating out, because there's plenty of other powerful cards to use.

Bellock, City of Brass is almost the same thing, expect it to be that price or less

Cobthecobbler I think that's what the price will settle around once it rotates out of standard, but during it's standard years I believe it's price will settle around 10-15 dollars. I can see it being used a lot, especially with shocks rotating.

Cobthecobbler ~ I was speaking to the fact that shocks are going away in september/october so multi color decks take a big hit. That land could make up for that. While in standard. Afterward I would still expect it to be about $12 long term since it can't be used against you like City of Brass can and it will definitely be an EDH go to land

The shocks are used very very heavily and are basically worth 7/8 buckles. This card won't see as much play but it's also a single rare and not a cycle

Unfortunately we don't really know anything about the next set. However typically after rotation decks will consist mostly of cards that are in the current block, so with that in mind let's make a few guesses and the Guild Archetypes (since we have no idea what kind of land we'll get in the next block and mono coloured decks are pretty much guaranteed to be aggro in strategy):

First off, Blue White:

Honestly no idea about this one, it losses most of it's good contol spells and gets a lot of situational spells such as revoke existence. So I feel aggro heroic is going to be the main strategy, voltroning up and swinging unblockable sound like the name of the game. Hero of Iroas and a bunch of Enchantment creatures and heroic little guys.WIll also mostly likely play bounce to help clear the path, get rid of a threat or save your creatures from threats such as the new black anti voltron card.

Key cards: Hero of Iroas and Eidolon of Countless Battles, Thassa, God of the Sea Kiora's Dismissal (because this card is amazing)

.

Blue Red:

Counter Burn is what I can imagine this deck being. Probably the main control deck for standard. Keranos takes the charge while spells like Dissolve and bounce control the board and burn to the face.

Key Cards Dictate of Twin Gods, Keranos, God of Storms lots ofbutn and bounce

.

Red Black:

The control variant will be lots of exile to kill cards such as gild and Anger of the Gods and going for some big dragons late game

The punishment variant will include cards like Eidolon of the Great Revel and the Hag, basically it will damage the enemy solely for playing magic.

The Aggro Deck will be half Minotaurs with a curve being topped of both Gary and Fanatic to try and deal the last few points of damage to the enemy.

.

Green White, if only more wolves :(

Anyway, this colour scheme is probably the hardest to fathom. I can see Ajani being key in this and probably being Enchantment heavy. Cards such as Heliod and Eidolon of Blossom make me think they're going to be making single big creatures

.

Red White:

Pretty certain Iroas sums this build up, lots of little guys swinging for game most likely with a bunch of combat tricks to get the damage in fast

.

Black White:

Enchantments, Enchantments all day long. the coin dude, the giant, and Heliod all likes like a great push towards Enchantments The Idea is to build up a board presences and drain your opponent dead, or force them to drain themselves Erebos.

.

Blue Black

Mill, now bare with me for a moment. I know lots of people hate the idea of mill but lets just look at it for a moment. Siren of the Silent Song mills and hand disrupts, Thoughtseize is turn one info and hand disruption, Vortex Elemental who stalls like a boss, King Macar who get rid of anything non-hexproof,pain seer grants card advantage and Phenax taps them all down. Plus with 4 Thoughtseize and 4 siren of the silent Song I can see Waste Not even seeing play in this.

.

Blue Green:

Hydras and Card advantage. blue green will probably play some early stall and ramp in the form of Caryatid, Kiora's Follower and Vortex Elemental to leed into card advantage cards and then Kruphix and his Prophet. Then with all that mana you get to abuse Polukranos, Broodmaster, basically everything you can sink a but tonne of mana into if need be.

.

Red Green

Still Monsters. Can't see this deck changing to much. I think Polis Crusher will be staple. Xenagos and the God version will play a big role In just getting big guys on the field fast and smashing with them just as fast.

.

Black Green:

This one is odd, it feels like it wants to throw stuff in the grave, and just let it stay there. Nemesis of Mortals can be an early bomb along with Nighthowler while having cards to get back key creatures such as the green black Gorgon Honestly this seems like another combination that will depend entirely on what we see in the next set.
