Sandsteppe Mastodon in Sidisi Whip?

So I am currently working on building a Sidisi Whip (Sultai Reanimator) deck. After viewing the Fate Reforged spoilers and attending the Fate Reforged prerelease, the card Sandsteppe Mastodon caught my eye. Alone it is a 5/5 beater, but with it's bolster ability, I think it could be very powerful in a reanimator deck. The mana cost is not very important because you will just be using Whip of Erebos to get it from your graveyard. As a result, it will give a major buff to the lowest toughness creature you control. I could see this being used with the insects spawned with Hornet Queen. At it's worst (being alone on the battlefield) it is a 10/10 with lifelink. What do you guys think? Do you think it will have a place in Sultai Whip or not?

You won't always have the whip. Hornet Queen is actually worth 7 mana. Sandsteppe Mastodon is not

You could try it, but I'm thinking this card won't see too much constructed play

I am going to test both Mastodon, and Torrent Elemental in Sidisi Whip.

I do think Torrent Elemental would be good. That card with whip is sick

Yeah the difference between Sandsteppe Mastodon and Hornet Queen is that the latter is very good on it's own too, and insane when whipped. Sandsteppe is pretty bad for constructed on its own, and his upside is being merely useful if you can whip him. However, if you're on a budget you can experiment with him if the better options are outside your budget.

I really actually do think that Torrent Elemental will be fantastic in Sidisi Whip.
Mainly because not only will it easily finish games, but it can never be removed completely.

SRS is not the place for format discussion. The format forums exist for questions like this. Moved.
