Satyrs vs. Smiters

I have been changing my G/W aggro deck around a bit and cut Boon Satyr , however I miss their utility and am looking to incorporate them back in. Unfortunately, with my three drop position so filled, the most likely cut to make is Loxodon Smiter . I like the speed of Satyr, but the strength of Smiter, and there are obviously strengths and weaknesses to both. Input?

Satyr is greater than Smiter in this deck.

I would take out all Loxodon Smiter , add 3x Boon Satyr , go down to 2x Brimaz, King of Oreskos and 2x Gods Willing , and then add 3x Soldier of the Pantheon .

Thank you for the input SharuumNyan! I was thinking the same in terms of bringing back Boon Satyr . The Flash is a great combat trick, and Bestow helps seal out games! :)

I also like that you have 3x Ajani. Most of the net decks out there only run two. I've been playing GW a lot recently, and three Ajanis has always worked out better than two, at least for me.

Same for me, it's a LOT faster, and having one (almost always) tucked away in your hand is reassuring knowing if you get them low enough you've got them stuck! I used to run 2 in my Mainboard as well, and putting the third in increased the "Aggro" of it a ton!

it depends on how your deck is i suppose, I run both because my deck needs both. I run above the curve creatures with almost every cards pulling double duty. Advent of the Wurm and Boon Satyr are my "surprise" creatures, while Boon Satyr and Unflinching Courage are enchantments i use for mid-late game. I guess since you're running Brimaz, King of Oreskos he would have Loxodon Smiter s spot while Boon Satyr keeps its own i think

Since it's an aggro deck, Boon Satyr is definitely the way to go. Loxodon Smiter is better in more midrange decks where a solid early defender is needed. However, the flexibility of Flash and Bestow is too good to pass up for aggro, especially in a format with great removal. What's better than forcing your opponent to waste a Hero's Downfall on your Bestowed Soldier of the Pantheon , knowing that they still have to deal with the real threat?
