which do you guys think is better in an standard aggro deck?

As an aggro deck in standard you NEED to be fast, you can't afford to not play anything for a turn. Especially the first few turns of the game. So fetch lands are supreme here.

Yay what ZooGambler said is true. You might also consider painlands (and things like Mana Confluence) because the also allow to fixcolors and comesinto play untapped. If you want, take a look atmy deck, I use them and it is great!

For 2 color aggro decks you should value dual lands in this order:

  1. Painlands

  2. Fetchlands

  3. Temples

  4. Gainlands

Fetches are way better for aggro as they give you an untapped source. Painlands are also fairly good for aggro.

If you're running a 2 enemy-color aggro deck (e.g. B/W Warriors), I'd play 4 painlands, 4 scrylands, and a couple of Mana Confluences

If you're running a 2 allied-color aggro deck (e.g. U/W Heroic), I'd play 4 fetchlands, 4 scrylands, and maybe a couple of gainlands and mana confluences

If you're running a wedge aggro deck (e.g. Jeskai Tokens) I'd play 4 painlands (at least 2 of each enemy-color combination), 4 fetchlands, a few temples, and one or two Mana Confluences

I don't think shard aggro decks are viable in standard at the moment

Well I play jeskai token (like you can see on my previous post) and the painlands are better in my opinion than the scrylands for it because it allows me to be aggressive, and since I get a lot of tokens I can easily block so the life loss doesn't matter

Scry lands are slightly better guildgates. Fetches are some of the best lands ever printed.

The fetch lands are particularly good right now because of all of the awesome delve cards. Even if you don't build your deck around the graveyard, you'll still want to have some cards that take advantage of that resource. So the fetch land can end up being an extra mana at some point along the line, doubling the mana bonus on the scry land.

Fetch lands are awesome with Courser of Kruphix, allowing you to shuffle away a top card that you don't like, and canceling the life loss with a life gain trigger.

However scry lands do have their place. Fetch lands do require a bit more build-around as far as having enough basic lands to not get stuck. And in the end they're worse at mana fixing. You can afford a certain number of tapped lands in most decks, just don't overdo it.

Oh, I misread. If you're playing agro, you can't afford many tapped lands at all. The question is between pain lands and sac lands, and that depends on how much delve you have and how many basics you're running.

Fetches are better than scrys in aggro. I still think fetches are pretty meh in standard. With no shocklands like modern they are just lands that require you to pay life and still only tap for one color. Especially in standard with painlands and scrylands there are just better options. But in aggro you want your lands untapped in most cases.

I still cringe when I see people playing off color fetches in standard for "deck thinning".

Delve is a notable exception. Dig Through Time is not bad.
