i still have not figured out how to use Sire Of Insanity efficiently. yes you drop him, and everyone starts top decking, but more often than not I have cards that I would like to drop before the discard king hits the board. I guess ideal situation would be to ramp into sire after dropping a Ruric Thar, the Unbowed and maybe having a planeswalker on the board?
if people can discuss how they play him effectively, i would be appreciative.

I have him in my sideboard for control match-ups in my mid-range deck. If they can't deal with him at instant speed you pretty much win the game from there unless they top deck a board wipe or an answer as they are left with nothing but you have a 6/4 body.

hrm...would it make sense to run just those 3 in a deck and try to land them before turn 6?

You're not supposed to try to combo him. He's his own win condition. See Post #2.

if you dont think the sire is good enough on his own (which he is), id recommend flashback cards and scavenge cards to make use of the cards you discard.

came up with this potentially to take use of him more. not sure if it works though

The ideal deck for Sire Of Insanity doesn't worry about trying to drop its hand because the deck wants to put itself in top deck mode because it's only full of powerful spells. Having a bunch of cheap spells just means you're drawing irrelevant stuff off the top once he's down.
You want to be top decking cards like Bonfire of the Damned not Rakdos Cackler .
This is why the cards done so well in Jund Midrange, if your deck is full of high impact cards dropping a few of them to also drop their hand is not a big deal. You're fine trading hands because when you're both in top deck mode your deck is more likely to draw a higher impact card.

Blood Scrivener would ensure that you get more card advantage as opposed to your opponent

In one of my more recent playtests I dropped him and then next turn scavenged a vexing devil onto him. from there it was basically just activating kessig wolf run into the win.

Play with Shrieking Affliction and Blood Scrivener for the win.

Low costing spells and have him and ruric in your hand before turn 6. drop ruric first, then drop him, watch opponent figure out what to do while squirming in his chair.
