Sire of Stagnation

Is it just me or is Sire of Stagnation just insane? With a lot of the most powerful decks in standard playing 4-5 colors and 11 fetches it seems like this card is just great. The ideal scenario is your opponent is missing a color on 6 and you play sire and they have to let you draw 4 cards to get their last color. In control mirrors if this lands, they have to kill it to develop their manabase and having a mana advantage in control mirrors is very strong.

Alright thanks. I dont play much standard but i remember playing against it at the prerelease and it came to mind when saw some deck techs with 11 fetches at the pro tour.

He really finds a home in EDH much more than Standard. I'd still be very happy if there was a solid Ingest/Process constructed deck that ran this guy, but it isn't as likely.

Here's my deck, Dimir Nomnoms. I run him. and I'm only a two color. He's very strong. and it forces kill spells/counters or forces them to stop playing lands. which are all great when your already controlling the board state.

You just cast it on turn 6. Many decks play 4 colors and need to fetch even in the later turns to get their colors online. Also, not letting your opponent get past 6 lands is pretty good.

He's very good, but not insane. In EDH, he's a lot better than in standard. Every time I have played against him, he's never been an issue. But in EDH, where you can use him, Consecrated Sphinx and Notion Thief in the same deck, some crazy booju happens.

He's good, but I don't think he's insane. If you play him on your 6th turn, chances are that he'll eat Abzan Charm, Murderous Cut, Crackling Doom, boardwipe, etc. before your opponent plays their land drop. If you wait a few more turns, lets say turn 8 or 9 for countermagic protection, your opponent won't be needing too many lands and you won't get too much value.
