So I'm working on a constellation brew

And noticed an interaction between Abzan Ascendancy and Frontier Siege the moment I saw it I cut my Dictate of Erebos for ascendancy
I get that the Ascendency makes a flying token, and that the frontier siege allows flying tokens to fight things... but a 1/1 flying token doesn't seem like it would win many fights, yea? I mean, I guess if your creature died in combat and missed killing a creature by one point it could be useful, but that seems like a pretty rare occurrence

My thought process is that Doomwake Giant plus combat can't kill them all

I guess you could add in Archetype of Finality so all your guys come in with Deathtouch, then their fights do become lethal...

The correct answer is Hornet Queen with Frontier Siege, tho you don't need to play Constellation to make that work.

Abzan Ascendancy triggers Constellation exactly once, and doesn't have half as powerful an interaction with Frontier Siege as Hornet Queen does (she even works really well with the Khans mode). The only reason to choose Ascendancy over the Queen is if you aren't playing Whip of Erebos.

@tyforthevenom Maybe you should have posted a link to a decklist for your brew or made some other kind of effort to let people know what you're going on about.

Listen guys, clearly he was just trying to show us that he built a deck that could kamikaze 1/1 flying spirit tokens into bigger things. If he wants to play magic that way, that's perfectly fine. No need to be overly condescending

Kamikaze 2 tokens into a 2/2 ordeal triggers they sac creatures 3 and 4
4 dead creatures on your opponents side coz they killed one of your guys

I see all three (Abzan Ascendancy, Frontier Siege, and Dictate of Erebos) being stronger than just 2 of the three, but ultimately, I don't know that constellation is the best home for it. More of a sac/reanimator curving into Siege Rhino

@tyforthevenom What?
No ordeal triggers when fighting.
Do u mean dictate instead of ordeal. U said u took out dictate.
Also spirit tokens don't make more tokens when they die. They would need to kill 2 of your creatures for u to have 2 spirits.
Even if it worked the way you want it to, your opponent would never kill one of your creatures while you have this combo out...

@NixonInnes: as OP of said thread, I'm a little offended by that :p

I personally like the idea of having Abzan Ascendancy, Frontier Siege, and Dictate of Erebos all on the battlefield at the same time. They all can work well without the others, depending on your situation. But if you have all three in play, you can kill a lot of creatures just by simply killing your own creatures. Hornet Queen works great with Frontier Siege, so you could even include that as well. Round out the deck with Eidolon of Blossoms, Courser of Kruphix, and various other enchanments, and you have a pretty solid deck IMO.

dictate is amazing along side your opponents Sorin, Solemn Visitor emblem hahaha

Not sure what interaction you're talking about? Suiciding your new 1/1 spirits into your opponent's creatures seems less than ideal...
