Is Thoughtseize good enough to splash black solely for it?
@ThatBlueMage I don't have it posted at the moment as I'm in the process of building it as I type lol. I'll most likely run Doom Blade in the sideboard and Rapid Hybridization main since my meta is very black heavy at the moment.

Do you have an archetype that you're trying to stick to?
There's already a few ways that have been established to splash black into certain decks. Give us some more info so that we can help you out a bit. :P

It's not just what you're splashing, it's what you're trying to splash it into. So, what deck are we talking about?

It's a blue white life gain deck with an enchantment sub theme. It uses Hopeful Eidolon Fiendslayer Paladin and Archangel of Thune to boost my life total and Ethereal Armor to bolster my guys with Thassa, God of the Sea and potentially Aqueous Form to push damage through.

I don't follow standard (I'm a modern man) so I don't know what standard archetype it would be classified as.

If you're going to splash black I'm sure there are plenty of cards that you'd want to add in other than just Thoughtseize

I'm only splashing for Thoughtseize to deal with threats preemptively.

Splashing black into a W/U aggro deck for just Thoughtseize will probably end up hurting more than helping.

I'm thinking if I splash I'm going to side Doom Blade as well.

Probably not. If you're going to go to the effort of putting black into anything, you may as well throw in some forms of removal as well. What's the deck?
