Standard Counters

Which counters do you think will become the Standard staples? Stubborn Denial looks good for Temur decks...they usually will be able to use it on T3 thanks to Savage Knuckleblade and hits Planeswalkers...yay!
Disdainful Stroke looks cool, too. Hits all the Planeswalkers that we hate and can whack Siege Rhino , Stormbreath Dragon , etc.
Dissolve still seems strong.
Anyone plan to run the xRU counter/burn?
What ones do you think will see some play?

Dissolve is still hands-down the best counterspell in the format. Disdainful Stroke is probably the second best, because it's easily splashable and almost all of the worst threats cost 4+ mana (exceptions being Goblin Rabblemaster , Courser of Kruphix , Savage Knuckleblade , etc.). With Delve, Dissipate is looking slightly stronger, Mindswipe looks to be an interesting counter/finisher, Temur Charm is strong but forces you into those colors, and Stubborn Denial is a bit situational.

Nullify is serviceable and it fills a niche for sideboards.

Swan Song
is also something to consider. For U it catches instant, sorceries and enchantments. Deals with the pesky gods, Courser of Kruphix
, the Whip of Erebos
showing up in the abzan reanimator decks and any other enchantment that might show up to ruin your game plan. I would side it vs main it though.
The trade off is a 2/2 bird, but usually I find that a very good trade off in your favor vs them sticking something that's most likely going to blow you out of the game/match.

gufymike, good call on Swan Song . I tried it out early in the THR block, and then it feel out of favor with me. That said...how sick would it be if this hit Planeswalkers as well?
