Hello All!I am new to magic and I am looking for some help in building my first deck. I think that a mana ramp deck would work well for me, but I am not sure. I only have bought a starter deck and a few boosters. Should I buy the deck builder's toolkit or just try and buy singles. Let me know your thoughts.Thank you!
The Intro decks are very weak but interestingly enough one Player won two matches with one a couple of weeks ago at my FNM.
You can tweak them by buying individual cards that are more powerful. That's how I helped my friend get into Magic, and we made a very competitive deck for him.
If you use the theme of the Intro deck as a starting point, and do some searches on here to find more competitive versions of it, you should be able to build something you can have a bit of fun with.
Competitive deck building from scratch can be a very time consuming thing to learn. Copying lists when you're new is often a good way forward, until you get the hang of things more.

First of all, if you want certain cards, ALWAYS buy singles. Packs are only if you are looking for the "Chase" rares. Intro decks are complete trash, and should never be bought. The deck builder's toolkit is meh. Just look around, and find a mana ramp deck you like, and model yours around it. I try to find decks i like and then I make them into cheap versions.
