Taking advantage of scry

Sire Of Insanity was semi-playable with Grixis control builds, but now with scry coming back into play, is it possible that scry will make Sire truely competative? Thoughts?

I would think so, if the format really does slow down. By scrying a lot you'll set up your draws to get exactly what you want when you want it. Toss in Thassa, God of the Sea and you already have a better chance to get what you need.

Sire's still a tough card to read. You would need some pretty consistent Scry ability (like Thassa, for example). The whole reason Sire is so strong in the current Standard is that you can set up the board-state in your favor and then drop it to decimate your opponent's hand, effectively cutting them off from the resources needed to deal with your board.

There are other combos you can do with Scry mechanics. Melek, Izzet Paragon and Garruk's Horde anyone? Top card isn't an instant/sorcery or creature? Just scry it to the bottom and see what the next card is.

For Sire Of Insanity , meh? Sure you can scry down your lands and spells that don't help you, but doing that once/twice per turn with Sire Of Insanity out going to help?
