Thassa, God of the Sea
2U
Legendary Enchantment Creature - God
Indestructible
As long as your devotion to blue is less than five, Thassa isn't a creature. (Each U in the mana costs of permanents you control adds to your devotion to blue.)
At the beginning of your upkeep, scry 1.
1U: Target creature you control can't be blocked this turn.
Hmmm, let's see:
1. Indestructible. Cast the supreme verdict and it lives.
2. It can become unblockable or make any creature you have unblockable.
3. Scry. You get through your library faster.
Pretty cool. Now the question is who will be it's BFF to make it a creature?

In a control deck Claustrophobia would play nice with Thassa. 2x of them out makes for an active Thassa.

OH! Frostburn Weird would play so nicely. Pump 3 times, make unblockable, hit for 4 unblockable.

I'm thinking of existing cards. I think both Jace's will be happy.
For B/W:
Could the Ascended Lawmage
see play? Unblockable and hexproof? Now just add the auras!
How about the Council of the Absolute
?

Wow. That's actually really good. The only real downside to it not being a creature early on is that it can't block. Indestructible is huge, I'm glad Selesnya Charm is still a thing.

I think maybe, just maybe, Tidebinder Mage might make a good friend for dear old Thassa.

Is it weird that there's no reminder text for scry? Every other card that uses the scry keyword has had the reminder text.

I'm looking passed her "Devotion to Blue" clause and thinking of Grixis and Master of Cruelties

lol. Target creature can't be blocked, it seems too easy doesn't it. Also known as "hold your removal for the Master of Cruelties coming down in two turns..."

I like the control inevitable with this card...
Keep your blue devotion low... 5-6... and use bounce/sac to keep your Thassa alive when targeted with creature removal. (drop your devotion to 4 or less, and suddenly it's an invalid target)
AEtherling , would work well with this...
Jace + Aetherling + Thassa... Exile your AEtherling , cast Supreme Verdict - (Okay, Thassa waould have survived anyway... but the idea is the same)
Jace + Aetherling + Thassa... opponent casts Tribute to Hunger or similar sac effect... Exile AEtherling , and you no longer have a creature to sac, so you lose nothing.
In the same respect, Flash effects can make it suddenly be a creature, making for an unexpected blocker.
Throw in Mutavault 's and Haunted Plate Mail and you have creatures that can come into play after these ones leave.
In general, the concept of "Devotion" may make mono-color a little more attractive.... while Dual color may focus on more Hybrid mana creatures, like Boros Reckoner , or Dryad Militant .

I love the idea of Devotion. It'll make mono-colored decks more viable in standard by forcing you to get enough mana symbols of the right color for them to work to the fullest.

Maybe all this talk of new titans will be Devotion enablers...5 mana Titan for UUUUU...Just as playable as Phyrexian Obliterator !
