Once upon a time there was deck

Not a dirty nasty deck with - Oh right wrong story

Anyway

What happened to RDW. Where did it go? I seems to have just shrunk into the shadows in a world ruled by Mono-Black Blue/White and Jund.

Truthfully it actually seems well positioned. It has good match ups against both Mono-Black and U/W both of which are dominant forces.

The only new threat the have to deal with is Bile Blight (As no one is playing [[Drown in Sorrow).

I know that anytime a new standard drops aggro starts out as the dominant force (MUD and RDW) then it slowly shifts to midrange and control (Where we are now) but it still seems well positioned.

Tell me what you all think and what caused the death of one of the major pillars of standard.

Thanks!

I honestly have no idea. If I had to guess, I'd say that MBD is just too good not to play :)

On a more serious note, I have seen a few people play Boros Burn.

Mono-Blue happened. Even against its best match-ups RDW isn't always heavily favored - it will loose to decent enough draws from MBD and control, and then add to that there is additionally a deck that's running around mainboarding Tidebinder Mage , Master of Waves and Frostburn Weird .

It's also not quite fast or powerful enough to go under many of the mid-range decks right now. It's really missing a Hellrider and Stromkirk Noble quality of cards that it enjoyed last season.
