Just want to see others opinions as well as what they may be running after Theros is released. I personally will be doing Golgari with Thoughtseize and and of course many other great cards.
i see that the new U/B planeswalker should pair well with Nightveil Specter and other exile cards nicely

I would love to get my hands on Erebos and Ashiok too. The duals I don't mind so much not to use necessarily. Just being that I have played when there were far worst lands to use, so I guess numbed from all the pain I have endures from MTG over the years lol.

@Nick, Casual Strategist and add Daxos into that mix and it'll be a plethora of shenanigans.

The duals aren't anything near as good as people were hoping for. I find them interesting, but only for non-competitive play. WotC did say they wanted to slow down the format. I like the scry. It's a nice combo with stuff like Ruin Ghost .

I'm actually quite liking Theros. I don't see a lot of "must-have" cards that will show up in every decklist possible, and I find this to be a tremendously good thing. I prefer a format (I play standard only) with a nice variety and some creativity to it. I've got several different control (yeah, I'm that guy) builds in the works just based off of what I've seen of the set so far.

I'm perfectly happy with the new Dual Lands. I feel like scry is being severely underrated just because some past fixers are too good. Scry has saved me many times, and I've never been particularly fond of super-fast decks anyway. I'll be happy to see things slow down just a little bit and become more thoughtful and methodical.

I think that people are spoiled by the shocklands from RTR, and so the scrylands are underwhelming for that reason. I think w/o the shocklands people would be completely fine with scrylands. And I'm excited to build a deck I'm thinking of based around Purphoros. It's more of a theme deck than anything competitive, but I'm excited for it nonetheless.
Also, I LOVE the flavor of Theros. I'm a big Greek mythology buff, so this is tapping into my inner Vorthos.

Like JWiley129 said, players are used to the super useful shock and check lands. Just like how guildgates were underrated despite being decent, these Scry lands are actually quite useful. I see many combo decks arising in Standard with all of the scry. In general though, scrying is useful in any deck. It allows you to view your next draw(s), and if you don't like them, you just send them to the bottom of your library.

@ acbooster what combo deck? Control becomes better positioned. But there is nothing combo in standard once rotation happens.

bman, keep in mind that we have yet to see the other two blocks of the Theros set. Combo cards may very well show up there. I never said that combo decks would immediately spring to life the day the sets rotate. I simply said that they'd arise in Standard.

It's been 2 years since we have had a combo deck in standard and that was at the time we had Jace, the Mind Sculptor in standard. Wizards looks like they are trying to slow game play down. Not speed it up. Combo looks like a no show for this set.

Defiantly liking the new set here see a lot of potential with these cards also very happy with the duels I was under the impression that their weren't going to be any but there are which is cool as far as Scry goes I like it especially with things like Domri Rade so overall like what I see and I am sure their will be more duels in the sets to come in this block Selesnya colors would be nice but for now I'm cool with the Gruul colors for now.
