...But do standard FNM events happen all at the same time as long as they're in the same time zone, or do they vary depending on the spot?

For example:

some card store has an event at 9:30 at night.

other card store in the same time zone has same event at same time.

Well, more lik States, not time zones.

The event starts whenever the store owner believes that he can get the biggest profit and the happiest players. That being said, there are two stores that i can get to easily. One starts for the early players (so a lot of little kids are there), therefore it is at 6:00 pm. The other store for more experienced players starts at 7:30 pm.

Finally, keep in mind that stores might do more than one format. The store that my friends go to has a draft that starts at 7:00 and modern that starts at 7:15...

tl;dr, it varies on the store.

Also, if you ever have a question or comment, never advertise it with, "this is going to sound stupid / this is a dumb comment / stupid comment alert..." . It will shut off most people from listening / reading / conversing with you because it either means that you aren't smart or that you are just joking around and nobody wants to hear.

Try something like, "I am not sure how to ask this" or in this case, "when do events start?".

They both sound dumb, but at least you aren't downgrading yourself and your query.

(if you are wondering why I even bothered going on this post is that i find trolls to be amusing... But helping you is probs better)

My LGS has flex time for their tourneys. They always run an 8-pod as soon as enough players sign up, whether it's a standard or draft or even modern. I've tried to get into draft when it's supposed to start at 6:00 pm, and found it started about 45 minutes ago, and then I had a draft not start until 7:00 because of lack of players. Not sure if your store does it differently, but it's annoying when you work until five and can't get there earlier to grab a spot.

FNM starts at 7pm at my LGS. Weekend tournaments usually start around noon.
