Would like to hear some opinions on post rotation. I'm tied between making abzan midrange and mono white. I have both listed on my profile page if anyone is interested. More or less interested in seeing what people are thinking of for rotation.
It's too damn early to worry about Rotation. Just play the decks you think are fun!

I'm going to play a UG Tempo deck that utilizes heavy morph ability, but I've had that planned for months. It's more of a budget approach minus Den Protector.

PEOPLE. ROTATION IS IN OCTOBER. NOT JULY, NOT AUGUST, NOT SEPTEMBER. WE HAVE LIKE 2 MONTHS BEFORE ROTATION. WE ALSO HAVE NO KNOWLEDGE OF WHAT WILL HAPPEN IN BFZ.

on topic, abzan will still be strong, so will RDW, control will be ok especially if we get a Dissolve reprint/replacement.

Haha! Magicrafter: yes, true, but having a shell to work from can be important. As a person who tends to brew in standard, if you don't start ahead of time, you won't get to play your deck too long before another set comes and puts everything you've done to ruin.

Yeah, I myself am hoping for some good artifact goodness in BFZ so I can keep playing Izzet Artifacts.

The trouble with brewing ahead of time is that we know less than four fifths of what will be available. That is a huge percentage and will change an awful lot. Before any Khans was spoiled few people had Abzan or Jeskai as the early decks to beat. Im not against brewing ahead of time and it can certainly be beneficial but it has very little weight in what actually happens

Again, these things are true, but it depends on what level you want to play. At an FNM level, you can choose what type of deck you want to play (for me, I chose tempo), and go from there as new cards are released. You can usually out-play people and win from there.

I'm just gonna throw out that in all the matche I've played with my Atarka red deck, Scab-Clan Berserker is the stone cold nuts against anything that doesn't play a decent amount of creatures before turn 4. Esper Dragons, abzan control, any tempo deck etc. if they don't counter or block it they're in for 5+ damage usually. I'm pretty keen on it alon with Abbot of Keral Keep as an Outpost Siege on a body. Only 2 or so though since you don't want to play them on curve ever.

Well first we can take a look at decks that lose so much cards that it's an educated guess to say they might not survive rotation. For example U/W Heroic is a deck that will surely not survive rotation, I also have U/B control on my radar though it could survive as a weaker version.
G/R devotion loses some good pieces but retain so much strong cards that it's a safe bet to say they will probably stay in the metagame, as a matter of fact, G/x monster/ramp decks have close to always been present in standard, so does RDW. As for the clans, it's pretty clear that they are good contenders for tier 1 decks but it's BFZ that will tell us which one(s) will rise on top.

Well, since we know exactly 0 cards from BFZ, this seems like a moot question. However, I have a feeling Siege Rhino.dek will still be the deck to beat even after rotation.
