So I was wondering what the meta of post rotation standard would be. I think Questing Beast is going to become a new Siege Rhino , but if you have any other ideas, feel free to post them here. Also, I think the top 2 decks will be Hero of Precinct One midrange/control, and temur/ 4 color elementals with Risen Reef synergies.

SynergyBuild: lol at "siege rhino is better". not even remotely. Questing Beast is bonkers compared to rhino. rhino is 3 damage its first turn, then maybe another 4 on its second turn. 7 total over 2 turns. Questing Beast can top that on its first turn. and thats if we "only" look at damage, before even taking into account everything else the beast does. Beast is VERY well statted for its mana cost and ability.
i don't think Hero of Precinct One or elementals will be the "top 2" decks in standard, but i do think elementals will see at least some play.
i wish i could say an equipment deck with Fervent Champion could be good, but the equips available post-rotation kinda suck.

@Liliana69X I don't think he was talking about the creature specifically, more talking about the deck shell - seeing as he spoke about the land base and the matchups it was good against.

I'm really up on Feasting Troll King . It can be out consistently on turn three. With cards like Fling and Insatiable Appetite , the opponent can be dead on turn four or five no problem.

Liliana69X Sure, excluding blocks, the opponent interacting, or toughness ever mattering, or lifegain ever mattering, or multiples ever mattering, then this new card can beat Seige in terms of pure output per mana cost. Now, if you talking about MTG, where blocks can occur, so dealing 3 through them is important, and can deal way more damage than Questing Beast because of that, or if you include the part of MTG where life swings are talked about a fair amount more than life loss is, in terms of a Lightning Helix , than Siege Rhino is a 6 life swing vs the 4 life swing of Q-Beast coming out of the gate.
That's not to mention multiple copies, the fact that 5 toughness matters a lot when Lava Coil is premium removal, the whole part of being anti-aggro, where this is much less useful against burn, flickering, cloning, and many more interactions allowing for multiple ETBs of the Rhino, whereas this doesn't have that use, and I think it is very fair to say that Rhino was better in its standard than this will be.
That isn't to say this card is bad, I am a fan of it, but it is no Rhino, not in the metagame. OP said this was going to be the 'New Rhino' which implies it is taking the spot, this card won't do that, it will support a deck in the metagame, not become the metagame.
Otherwise we agreee, Hero and Elementals aren't top 2.

Siege Rhino is much better, given though it is harder to cast, fetches and an absurd manabase of that standard gave it what it needed to play in aggro, midrange, and control.
In comparison, this card isn't going to cause the same board stalls in mirrors, as they trade, Rhino was amazing in multiple, unlike this as it is legendary, and it isn't as well stated, it isn't a lifegain card vs burn decks, and just doesn't have flicker strategies or clone strategies either.
