Treasure Cruise in standard?

I like the idea of it. Treasure Cruise in the right deck is a great card draw spell. In control without Elixir of Immortality who cards if you exile cards from the grave? Sultai Self Mill seems like a pretty powerful deck... If not, it seems super fun to play!

In the end... Treasure Cruise can be an Ancestral Recall sometimes. And I hope everyone joins me on the Treasure Cruise ! Choo choo!

It's definitely a good card in the right deck. I don't think it's viable in standard, as it is terrible early on, and it's at sorcery speed. I did get to use it a couple of time at the pre-release, never as a one-drop, but somewhere between three-eight mana. It works, its not that, just not as fast as one would hope for, especially not in standard, it's just too conditional.

The best delve card, that could very well see standard play, is Murderous Cut with honorable mentions going to Hooting Mandrills .

The main thing hurting Treasure Cruise in Standard is the fact it's a Sorcery and not an Instant. To be honest, I think the better Delve card, as far as Card Advantage is concerned, is Dig Through Time because it IS an Instant and you can get exactly what you need/want for that particular situation.

Murderous Cut is an obvious card for the most played Delve card, but I feel like Empty the Pits will see play and will end games. Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth still exists and we've got plenty of dual/tri lands to hit .

Also I'm not sure that Hooting Mandrills will hit Constructed over better 4 power and greather threats in Green, namely Polukranos, World Eater , Siege Rhino , Savage Knuckleblade , Surrak Dragonclaw , Stormbreath Dragon , etc. I'd rather try and Delve out Sultai Scavenger because of flying, but it runs into the same problem of bigger, better threats in the air than it.

I think it's a good card. I would play it as a 1-of in any deck with blue, because why not? In a dedicated self-mill deck I would only play 2 max, because you want to be able to use those cards for effects that actually win the game.

I am testing a Jeskai Burn deck which is fairly fun so far, and I use it as a one of. In a deck dumping the burn into the graveyard every turn it is good, being able to cast for 4 or 5 typically.

Thanks for all the comments guys! I think I'll try it. the fact that you can draw 3 cards for a very low cost is always good.
