I unfortunatly had to cut my last post of upcoming standard breakthrough cards short so instead of continueing the post i n the comments, I decided to start a new thread. If you haven't seen the first thread you can find it here http://tappedout.net/mtg-forum/standard/upcoming-breakthrough-cards-of-standard/#c572338. Let's continue shall we?
- Havengul Lich . This guy was one of my favorite cards in dark ascension and saw a ton of play in heartless summoning decks. I am not exactly sure why heartless decks fell out of style but that was the old standard, and I have seen no indication as to why a bigger format would stop it from happening this time around.
- Duskmantle Seer . Did anyone say amazing sideboard tech?!?! While not good against aggro decks, for a tempo, control, or other midrange deck to constantly punish your opponent for playing heavy costing spells it is brutal. I recently posted a thread questioning the price of it and I still do, I mean come on, 20 dollars for a sideboard card? But I believe that we will be seeing this vampire from time to time..... oh and he fits in nicely with that heartless summoning deck.
- Worldspine Wurm . There is a ton of ramp going on right now. With Gyre Sage triggering with Somberwald Sage and Urban Evolution Doing its best Explore impression 11 mana is not that hard to come by. Oh and card:Alchemist's Refuge is a card. I would not be at all suprised if we see games being decided by an end of turn Wurldspine wurm
