U/W Heroic question

During RTR/THS I had built a super janky U/W Heroic deck which has a little in common with the U/W list that has been popping up recently, with one of the differences being that I played Daxos of Meletis. I found it to be a very enjoyable card and often pretty powerful as well. Obviously, it doesn't have heroic, but how do you all think he would fit into U/W Heroic? How about other standard decks?
The problem with throwing Daxos into the current U/W Heroic deck is that the deck has no need for the card. Favored Hoplite with the right tools is more than enough to win the game without needing to get slow and complicated with Daxos of Meletis.

Well on a more casual level he would be fine. Target your Phalanx Leader to get counters on him for free. But like said above, there are just more efficient options.

The best way to evaluate a card for a deck is to look at all of your options for 3 mana, as well as the power level of those cards. Daxos looks like he's a really good card, especially with all of the midrange decks around, but what other options do you have? It could be a single card like Fabled HeroMTG Card: Fabled Hero, or a combination of cards like playing Defiant StrikeMTG Card: Defiant Strike and having mana available for Feat of ResistanceMTG Card: Feat of Resistance for protection. I am sure there is a deck somewhere that would benefit greatly from Daxos, but like OP said, there are just more efficient options for UW Heroic.

You all have basically said what I kinda figured. I think I just have a love of fun, janky cards. The thought of stealing someones Siege Rhino or Wingmate Roc just makes my heart smile.

I run x2 in my mainboard. I like him because he is a pain your opponent azz without the need of a heroic trigger. Its seems like every time he hits the board, opponents need to read the card(because he doesn't see much standard play), and then they freak out and focus on killing him instead of my other creatures(lifegain and you can play their cards??? Battle Mastery gives him a double trigger). just my opinion

Daxos of Meletis is good in a vanilla U/W deck, but in Heroic I find something like Ainok Bond-Kin more useful since it has the upside of giving your entire heroic field first strike, or flying with Abzan Falconer. Now, what I said is to be taken with the grains of salt that is MTG in that their benefit is greater, but situational, whereas Daxos is more independently powerful (thus consistent), so to me, it really depends on how much you value the Heroic theme. Clearly, those instants like Defiant Strike and the Ordeals like Ordeal of Thassa are MUCH more effective on Heroic guys, so if you're playing with Ordeals I would stick with the heroic guys.
It's all in how you want to play, but in U/W Heroic, as I've been playing it for a while, I stick with the counters theme. I see Daxos of Meletis as more of a Commander, or lieutenant under, like, an Isperia, Supreme Judge.

I play a casual U/W enchantment deck, and at one point I was running 3 Daxos, but I found him to just be a little too slow and often a very disappointing draw for what I wanted to do. This may be a bit of a different situation, but my opinion on Daxos still stands.
