Voice of Resurgence vs Scavenging Ooze

Which would you say is the more versatile 2 drop for a PSB (prime speaker Bant-) deck? Please give reasoning behind your choice

It really depends on your meta. Are there lots of creature heavy decks? Are you running lots of removal? Are graveyard strategies prevalent? If so then I would say Ooze. If your meta has lots of removal or sweepers. Or lots of control decks that like to do things on your turn I'd say Voice. Also price is a factor.

Voice of Resurgence only gets good if you have a largish creature count in your deck, so in general I'd say Scavenging Ooze .

For Prime speaker bant I'd say try both and test it out as there's also the argument that the deck might not have as much removal to really make ooze good.

Why not play a mix of each and run 2 of each one?

Then have 1 additional in your sideboard (or two of each) when you know what matchup you're facing?

Personally, I'd say Ooze is overall better synergistic with PSZ as he will more than likely get bigger before she hits.

Still, Voice has the ability to at least replace itself if it comes down the turn before PSZ does in the mid-late game so you will get at least 2 counters

Thanks for all the input guys. I put the ooze in as a 3 of in place of my Voice. Didn't see them often enough to see what kind of difference it made, though

It's more of a meta call.

VoR, as mentioned above, is better when you have a higher creature count in your deck, and if your meta runs lots of instants. Even if your meta doesn't, VoR is still strong in that the / token can grow large if you have the ability to grow it.

Scavenging Ooze , however, becomes less effective when INN block rotates, since flashback and Snapcaster Mage will be gone. It's still a good card though, since it can grow itself while padding your life total. This is important if your meta is populated by aggro decks.

@Krayhaft: VoR is not only better when your creature count in your deck is high...rather he is better when you're playing against an interactive deck (control) and you have the ability to put out lots of creatures (whether by instants, sorceries, planeswalkers, etc). It does not matter what the creature count in the DECK is, but rather how many creatures you can get on the battlefield at any given time.

A single creature only pumps VoR by +1/+1, whereas a Lingering Souls can pump it +2/+2 to +4/+4 if flashed back

I decided that so close to rotation....I am just going to stop stressing over if Voice or Ooze is the better 2 drop and run 'em both later in the month. The dead Voice gives me a token and something edible for my Ooze....win:win
