I like how voretx isnt a dead draw and allows for a mana dumb in late game in mono blue.

it's also not an aggro flier that grows, given that mono-blue is an aggro deck.

but most of the time when i draw cloudfin it sits there as a 0/1 and does nothing

then you're not maximizing the Evolve mechanic

But if you talk about the creatures and not the cards id go for vortex elemental...looks harmless power but can take any other creature away

I tested Vortex Elemental in mono blue just yesterday, and it was just so bad in every match up. It costs 2 mana, and doesn't have the potential to kill them. It's anti-tempo, whereas cloudfin is pro-tempo, and in monoblue, you want tempo.

personally, I prefer Cloudfin Raptor , too especially in Simic decks, BUT Vortex Elemental can be used for anti-Scry, so... depends on your playstyle / win-con :)
