What does everyone think of this card?
I love having deathtouch one drops and this is nice because of its toughness of 2.
Also bloodrushing to give something deathtouch seems like it'll be useful in a blocking / being blocked situation.
Yeh, that's true but I still like the idea of that on a one drop. You can do some crazy things with that an Experiment One . A ridiculous opening would be T1 - Experiment One then T2 - Experiment One and one Wasteland Viper . Which would give two 2/2s and one 1/2 deathtouch. The fact that it triggers evolve on most openers for one mana and can be bloodrushed, I think, is valuable.

Deadly Recluse is the best of the two just because of the reach. It helps alot

I think that Ambush Viper is a much better card to compare it to than Deadly Recluse , since Deadly Recluse is just a deterrent while both Ambush Viper and Wasteland Viper are both intended for combat shenanigans. Still, I think Wasteland Viper is still not as good because it can't make a deathtoucher in your opponent's combat phase.

I think Blakkhand nailed it right on the head. Much better comparison.

It seems to me like the only reason it has that 2 Toughness is for the Bloodrush ability, because otherwise... It's going to kill whatever it fights regardless of whether it has a power of 1 or 2.
Also I'm not too sure about comparing it to Ambush Viper as well because both Ambush Viper and Deadly Recluse are (to me) defensive cards used to punish your opponent for attacking. But Wasteland Viper is still a pretty good card, I think.
Jimhawk says... #2
Better than Typhoid Rats , that's for sure. But is Wasteland Viper better than Deadly Recluse ? One more mana for reach but you lose the ability to give an attacking creature deathtouch (you can't block then bloodrush like you said). I think Deadly Recluse is still better in most cases because it can play defense better.
