What's everyone playing???

Super early in the SOI standard season. What's everyone playing? Personally, I am considering giving my UW Tempo a facelift with some new stuff and stick there or sleeve up UW Humans and see if I can play a nastalgia filled season with a throw back to original Innistrad. So what are you all sleeping up, TO?
I personally think Abzan has some spunk to it, but I'm trying to get some EDH decks together atm, so I'm forced into playing budget. I'm running a U/B Rise from the Tides control list.

alcor91, that seems cool. What's your win con look like? Lots of options in GW.
TheDevicer, I feel you on the financial strain of EDH, too. That's partially why I want to revamp my already made deck to play with, the other part is because it didn't lose much and was still successful. Rise from the Tides seems like it could get nasty. Just make sure you leave up the counter mana with Declaration in Stone floating around. I personally have 2 main boarded and that may quickly become 3. I expect similar stats from anything running white.
Anyone expect to see Avacyn's Judgment played? Burn from Within? I feel like they could end up relevant somewhere.
April 9, 2016 11:17 a.m.
From playtesting with the deck, I've noticed I have to play quite passively because of things like that. I can also kill the one zombie that Declaration is targeting to save my board.
Jund seems to be very popular atm here on TO.

First fnm of the season I played u/w midrange and it was fantastic. Crushed ramp twice and beat b/w, which I think will both be staple decks of standard going forward. The biggest thing I learned is that Declaration in Stone is the real deal. If you're in white, play as many copies of that card as you own.

Bw demonic pact, BG ramp and some sort of BG midrange/delirium deck

I'm playing Jund. Best creatures, walkers, and removal. Seems fun.

I don't expect to see Avacyn's Judgment played for the time being because Fall of the Titans is still in Standard, is strictly better, and neither see's play right now.
It's easier to go Expedite or Slip Through Space or Oath of Nissa or any 1 Mana Cantrip and then play Fall for it's surge cost. I suppose Lightning Axe, discarding Judgment and then casting it does the same thing but then you're dividing X damage amongst two targets rather than dealing X damage equally to two targets.

At the moment I'm looking at WB midrange, may end up swapping to RWthough to play chandra and avacyn.

Esper Control is always my style. Dragons aren't gone yet~

It's honestly a toss up. I didn't know rotation happened yesterday, so I brought my mardu tokens deck. I had to pull out like 15 cards plus the good part of the manabase and replaced them with whatever I pulled from my booster box. Flipping a Westvale Abbey Flip was the highlight of my night so I may continue with some combination of everything except blue tokens, but I've also been thinking about RB vampires because I pulled some sweet vampires and RG midrange because I pulled two Arlinn Kord Flips. Decisions, decisions.

GWr walkers/tokens, I really like the power level of the deck. Walkers and Tokens and Oaths, Oh My! is the list I'm working towards, still need a couple more Arlinns
April 9, 2016 2:36 p.m.
I have several standard decks I rotate between them, just to see what I think works and what doesn't. I'm slowly revealing them to the forums as I go, in fact I'm posting one up tonight.
Right now I have
G/R Landfall with the embodiment bros.W/B Allies with Avacyn and the legendary human guy from SOIG/R Eldrazi RampBant CocoEsper Control (need to get a few more cards for it before I do anything else)R/U Aggro Prowess
Decks that I want to make
G/R Midrange WerewolvesR/B Madness vampiresClue mill? Yes please?
Yes I am an odd one, I know.

I dream of hasty Kozelieks killing my opponents on turn 4/5. Do need to actually acquire some Olivia, Mobilized for Wars though as she is one of the main ways to make it happen.

DrFunk27, Jund looks really strong right now, I agree. Funny how that seems to happen every time we go to Innistrad. Don't forget that white has some top notch removal right now, too, though. Declaration in Stone surprised me, and definitely commands that $8+ price tag. Stasis Snare is ok and Silkwrap is still very much a thing. Wx gets to use Anguished Unmaking. Only issue with white is that some of the removal gets really conditional like "tapped" or "attacking" or "opponent chooses". For Jund, though, I'm really anticipating mean things from To the Slaughter.
alcor91, that looks bad ass. I can't wait for you to draw Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger or Void Winnower of of the Sorin +1!
FatherLiir, good call. fall is leagues better in 99% of cases.
Uzumaki1, WB looks great, but I do see the attraction to playing RW with Chandra, Flamecaller and Archangel Avacyn Flip. If Chandra alone isn't enough to pull you over remember Avacyn can played in any deck that runs white.
ifired, dragons are definitely still a thing and I love/hate it. Esper Dragons in particular looks well positions. Doesn't lose much and gains SO MUCH. I think you have the best removal suite so far this season.
HavokX, o feel your pain. I missed rotation once and had to change archetypes before I started. Hope you pulled it good stats. Flipping Westvale Abbey Flip must have felt good! I think it's well positioned for a tokens build. I may be siding one in my UW tempo against decks that make me play long games and pop it off a surprise Secure the Wastes.
Goody, looks great. When that deck gets going you'll be a steamroller out of control with all those tokens. 1 bit of caution, include some form of protection against Declaration in Stone with such a heavy token theme. Perhaps a sacrifice outlet to get rid of the one being targeted since in those colors you can't really do counter spells. BTW, I do have 2 Arlinn Kord Flips I can trade of we can come to an arrangement together.
Rudmed, GR landfall looks fun and I considered trying to play it before rotation and before I found UW to be so much fun again. I'd love to see your UR prowess list. I'm curious to see where that deck is going post rotation. I think Monastery Swiftspear will prove to be fatal loss for it :-(
nfcnorth, turn 4 Kozilek, the Great Distortion? I do believe there are professionals who you can talk to about that kind of issue. In the meantime good luck with that nasty nasty idea and I hope it pans out for you. I do have an Olivia, Mobilized for War if you need one and I can't hell ya out.
April 10, 2016 8:35 a.m.
capriom85 the best is +1 him after casting Conduit of Ruin searching for Ulamog for 10 damage free
April 10, 2016 9:09 a.m.
alcor91, you're twisted. I mean that as a compliment.
April 10, 2016 9:16 a.m.
Well I believe it is on my profile, it's gotten some feedback, the big issue is a lack of consistency. You might not be able to be able to rush it down, and if you can't then you are in trouble. I think it needs a lot of card draw now, or something to make the most of your spells getting cast. You might even have to throw in thing of ice and be okay with flipping it even if it sends a bunch of your board back.
I looked at the Todd Anderson U/R control, he threw a bunch of card draw and stuff like that. I think you need to be chucking some cards in order to get better cards. You need to be just burning through your deck to ensure that every turn you are getting those prowess triggers and swinging in strong every turn.
That's what my current idea is about the state of U/R prowess.

R/B/G with Sac/Burn/Token/Mana Gain cards. I have in it (x1 each of) R/G Planeswalker Arlinn Kord Flip, Chandra, Flamecaller, Nissa, Voice of Zendikar, Nissa, Sage Animist Flip, Ob Nixilis Reignited, and Chandra, Pyromaster. I have them working in conjunction with each other. Ob for destruction of creatures, Pyromaster for burn, Nissa, Sage and Nissa, Voice for tokens and land gain, Flamecaller & Arlinn for tokens as well. Plus, (for now I only have 2) Westvale Abbey Flip's. I'm going to post the deck soon. I'll post it on here afterwards. It's pretty wild, this combo. d&g85

I'm playing mono white weenies / humans personally. It is my tried and true faithful standard deck, whenever I've played an iteration of it I've always done well and so far this season has been no exception. Love me some little white creatures.

Full-Aggro Gruul Wolves. It's not "there" yet (still too unreliable), but I'm convinced it's doable! :-)

Kind of a mix of value cards with a minor token subtheme. Access to really strong removal and cost efficient creatures. Feels like a good successor to abzan.

U/W Humans was what I was already building the night after prerelease, and results from last weekend make it seem like I was on the right path. Was contemplating a Bant CoCo list but since I opened a ton of Archangel Avacyn Flip and Westvale Abbey Flip at pre release I stuck to U/W to easily fit those cards in my build.
Managed to convince the GF who was doing G/W CoCo humans to add a playset of Prairie Stream and Reflector Mage into her list so she is living the Bant dream without me

I'm not sure what the local meta looks like so I've been having trouble with a sideboard, but the deck plays well in testing.

[Capriom85] I did 5 pre releases, 3 of those pools contained an Avacyn + planeswalker. Then I opened a 4th from my 20 prize packs. A week later on the sets release I signed up for a sealed league with my GF and the first pack I opened contained Descend upon the Sinful and my 5th Archangel Avacyn
I did the math, and it was 1 Avacyn every 12 packs. And yes I fully expect my friends to beat me up if I open any more. I even 2-for-1'd myself and traded 2 for a foil copy

I'm running this Orzhov Tempo thing and I've been doing okay with it. Bant company is a pain in the ass but everything else seems to fold hard against it.
Been thinking about doing a BR eldrazi deck, just a bunch of Zulaport Cutthroat and Flayer Drone type effects with B/R 1-3 drops and Altar's Reap to refill my hand/get triggers. Dunno how well it will work in this meta of "everything has 3+ toughness" but I think it could be fun.

Fun at the very least. I am running UW Tempo and I honestly have no trouble against Bant Company. It's uncanny but I probably just jinxed myself
