what's the most efficient way to handle voice of resurgence?

Apart from burning it with Pillar of Flame ive had relative difficulty in finding ways to effectively deal with the card. At the moment i'm running a simic flash deck.
Little to no removal except forcing fights using Yeva, Nature's Herald , conter spells and some bounce in the sideboard. AEtherize against tokens, which should be a decent answer to voice but i can't see myself surviving any form of 2-for-1.
Plus the focus on the card has resulted in me neglecting the cards that support it, losing a game to a well timed Sin Collector .

You could always lock it down with an enchantment, but you still have to deal with the tokens from spells cast on their turn. Best way is to counter it or exile it.
If you could force combat, or even splash red for a R/U/G deck, Turn / Burn is a good way to get rid of it, AND you would be splashing red for Pillar of Flame anyway

OR keep it tapped down with Dungeon Geists until it rotates

You could do R/U/G Delver and have Pillar and Turn / Burn in there.

Really, just get rid of it ASAP. Once he's gone (probably from you "fighting" it) then all you have to deal with is a token, and that's easiest enough to remove

Treat it like a mini-Thragtusk ... just kill it however you would normally kill a creature, then deal with the token(s).
Worrying too much about "how to deal" with it, makes your deck less efficient. - You even said it yourself, "Plus the focus on the card has resulted in me neglecting the cards that support it, losing a game to a well timed Sin Collector ."
I would agree that some sideboard cards may be okay... but sideboarding against 1 creature may not be that great. If they happen to also be playing Strangleroot Geist , or some other grave based effect, Rest in Peace is great (provided it doesn't hurt your deck).
Splashing a 3rd or 4th color it deal with it is even worse than simply sideboarding against it.

Rest in Peace is highly situational, I should've added that. If I am facing a graveyard based deck, I will take the hit and side out my snaps in favor of rip. If it's a token/bant/naya, I'll usually just lock it down or pillar it.

I like using the Nightshade Peddler + Izzet Staticaster combo to deal with them. Ping during combat, then ping at your turn. Gets rid of all copies and tokens.

In my esper I just ignore it and slam down Terminus .

Simic doesn't have any answers that i know of, bar the odd Prey Upon effect, bounce, counter, and Rapid Hybridization which isn't too bad for an assortment, except fighting and the hybridization, the two most likely ways id have to deal with it, both demand a creature on the board for one reason or another.
Im more miffed about it's triggered abilities as the deck I was running has no answers to threats outside of Syncopate , Dissipate and Plasm Capture .
I never got my head around thragtusk and how to deal with it :P
Once it's in, it 's already done the damage to your tempo by negating 5 points of damage you either were going to deal or have already dealt, at least it had a finite use in most of the decks that had it see play.
Voice of Resurgence comes down a lot earlier, negates the effectiveness of control to a much greater extent than Thragtusk ever did, and replaces itself with something that is, more often than not, bigger than the card you paid for in the first place, while thrag just left a 3/3 standing (sizeable but didnt get bigger than that mostly)

not sure what you're running for a deck, but merciless eviction works great, especially against token decks.

Yevagana A.K.A. Simic Flush, went 3rd at fnm, lost miserably to a voice/aristocrats variant, i'd say Blood Artist did more damage than Voice of Resurgence in the matchup, though having the little guy on the field meant my creatures having flash wasnt a good thing, which is pretty important to the deck...

if you are blue, stealing it is fun. use cards like Switcheroo and take his bonus for yours. Prey Upon works too, especially on turn 3 if you dropped an Experiment One on turn one and any of the stronger creatures on turn 2 or 3 Drakewing Krasis and Murmuring Phantasm I'm looking at you.

Depends on the deck you're running. Rest in Peace or Detention Sphere are my favorites.
